Seahawks fan survey: Him or Him?
Sam Darnold or Jalen Milroe? JSN or Kenneth Walker? A survey of choices!
The Seattle Seahawks were clever enough to add a veteran signing who might be the future at quarterback AND a draft pick who might be the future at quarterback…in the same offseason? Which of those two between Sam Darnold and Jalen Milroe feels more likely to you to be the long-term answer?
Him or Him?
(Not to be confused with the post-2020 term “Him”, an over-used word of which I am not a fan, but this trailer for a movie with the same title looks interesting)
Today’s survey questions will seek to gauge FAN GUT FEELINGS and nothing more.
Questions like these do tend to pick at the nerves of some fans who feel “it’s too early to say” and “I don’t know”, but I urge you to explore your gut anyway. These poll questions do not seek RIGHT ANSWERS, but instead are meant to gauge what fans think they think as of May 7th, 2025. Nothing more!

2028 QB: Sam Darnold or Jalen Milroe?
It’s four seasons away, but bear with me: Between Seattle’s big free agent signing and notable third round draft pick, one of the two has greater odds of being the Seahawks starting quarterback in 2028.
Who do Seahawks fans believe has the greater odds between the two?
If Darnold seems like an easy answer, he surely is not:
Geno Smith did not start four seasons with the Seahawks
Neither did Rick Mirer, Warren Moon, or Jon Kitna
Darnold is signed through 2027, so if he’s still the quarterback the year after that then it means that you believe he was a really good pick-up this offseason.
On the other hand, if you are skeptical of the Darnold signing and do not expect him to last more than a year or two, then you might side with Milroe even if you feel like “I have no idea how good that rookie will become”. It just means you’re not alone: Nobody knows how good Milroe could become.
Choosing Darnold means you’re probably either a huge fan of the veteran or completely skeptical of the rookie.
Choosing Milroe probably means that you’re either skeptical of Darnold or a huge fan of Milroe. Though only a small percentage of QBs picked 92nd or later turn out to be starters, Milroe is still the sixth-highest drafted QB in the history of the Seahawks. So surely John Schneider saw something special.
I KNOW: The most likely QB in 2028 could be someone who isn’t on the roster right now and that’s a completely fair answer. I only ask that you choose what your gut tells you between these two options alone — Remember, we’re not using these surveys to find out “the right answer” but to find out what fans believe:
So there is no such thing as a wrong answer or “I don’t know”. What does your gut say? That’s the right answer.
Longer future with team: DeMarcus Lawrence or Uchenna Nwosu?
Even though Lawrence is signed through 2027, compared to 2026 for Nwosu, there is one major reason Seahawks fans might vote for the guy who has only played in 12 games since 2023: Nwosu has already earned respect in Seattle.
Nwosu posted 9.5 sacks and 26 QB hits in his debut Seahawks season, netting a three-year extension in 2023, but he has now missed 22 games in the past two years.
Lawrence is the new guy on the front and a well-known commodity because of his four-Pro Bowl career with the Cowboys, plus he signed a three-year contract in March. However, he’s five years older than Nwosu, and Lawrence has had his own injury demons, missing almost all of 2024.
What does your gut tell you: Who lasts longer in Seattle, the younger guy who can’t stay healthy or the older guy who is signed through 2027?
Top Tackle: Charles Cross or Abe Lucas?
If I conducted this survey after the 2022 draft, Cross would surely win because of his status as a top-10 pick.
If I conducted it again after their rookie campaigns, maybe Lucas would have gained the edge over Cross because at the time he was playing better.
But two seasons later, Lucas has missed 21 games due to a nagging knee issue and Cross has been inconsistent, although not enough to be denied the fifth-year option. Because of their respective deals, Lucas is set to become a free agent before Cross. However, Lucas will only be attractive to teams (including the Seahawks) if he can stay on the field.
I’ve heard it both ways from fans:
A lot of people seem to think that Lucas will rebound starting now
A lot of other people think that two years of an injury is long enough to believe it will never totally heal
The top-10 pick on the left side who has yet to reach his full potential or the third round pick on the right side who immediately hit his ceiling but can’t stay healthy?
More Total Yards in 2025: Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Kenneth Walker?
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 1,130 receiving yards and 26 rushing yards in 2024, the first time he led the Seahawks in targets (137) as a pro.
Kenneth Walker had 573 rushing yards and 299 receiving yards in 2024 for a total of 909, but missed six games. At 83 yards per game, Walker was on pace for 1,404 total yards in a 17-game season.
On one hand, JSN will presumably see a larger target share in 2025 with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett both moving on to new teams.
On the other hand, Walker should be featured in Klint Kubiak’s run-friendly offense, so if he’s healthy he could have a career-year.
TOTAL yards. Who has more?
Longer Seahawks career: RB Zach Charbonnet or WR Jake Bobo?
The 2022 UCLA football team was led by Charbonnet’s 1,359 rushing yards on the ground and Bobo’s 817 receiving yards through the air. Between the two of them, they scored 21 touchdowns that season, including 14 by Charbonnet.
In the 2023 draft, Charbonnet was Seattle’s second round pick and Bobo made the team as the most popular and respected undrafted free agent.
If I just did the previous comparison (JSN vs Walker), this would be too easy: Charbonnet will get far more opportunities than Bobo.
But what about if we frame it as the player who will have the longer career with the Seahawks? Charbonnet is a running back (strike one) and the team has two more of those hot on his heels (Kenny McIntosh, Damien Martinez) if he slips far behind Walker for the starting role. It’s also been speculated that Charbonnet is not as good of a fit for Kubiak’s offense.
Bobo isn’t likely to become a starting receiver, but he’s a versatile option who was second on the team in special teams snaps last season. Bobo was also cited in college as “the best practicer I’ve ever coached” by one of his head coaches. Bobo might have one of those Matthew Slater type careers.
3rd round pick becomes a starter: G Christian Haynes or QB Jalen Milroe?
Using Milroe one more time for a different kind of comparison. Who is more likely to become a starter in the NFL:
The quarterback project or the guard who we all figured was gift-wrapped a starting job in 2024 and then he failed even get a single start as a rookie?
Don’t worry about choosing the right answer or having enough information, what does your gut say?
Extension First: Boye Mafe or Tariq Woolen?
Mafe has posted 15 sacks in the past two seasons, but for whatever reason that kind of production disappears around November: Mafe has 11 career sacks in 20 September/October games compared to 7 sacks in 28 games in November, December, and January.
Mafe will be a 27-year-old free agent in 2026. If he has a breakout season and is worth keeping, an edge rusher is also one of the most expensive positions.
Woolen — who I think has to go back to “Tariq” at this point — had six interceptions in his first 12 career games. He has five interceptions over his last 37 and it felt like he was quietly benched by both Pete Carroll in 2023 and Mike Macdonald in 2024.
But when you look at Seattle’s roster, the starters and the depth at cornerback would lead most of us to believe that the Seahawks have a greater need there than at outside linebacker. It is not so clear though that Woolen would be the long-term answer.
Which of these two players feels more likely to be extended or re-signed before leaving in free agency in 2026?

Seaside Joe 2256
I am all aboard the Milroe hype train. But I have also been a Seahawks fan since 1976, so I am accustomed to high hopes and disappointment.
Thanks Ken! Nice easy survey with no wrong answers. Today’s my birthday and this was a treat for me.
