Did the Seahawks disappoint you this season?
That’s a question that has many answers and maybe you’re wrestling with how fans can either feel disappointed in a team that’s far from the worst in the league despite firing Pete Carroll or how other fans can feel satisfied after Seattle mostly beat bad teams and lost to good teams.
If you never thought the 2024 Seahawks were going to be a playoff team, then maybe a winning record is actually a step up from your expectations and you don’t care as much about missing the playoffs.
If you expected the 2024 Seahawks to win the NFC West in style, then perhaps 9 wins, missing the playoffs, and potentially not beating a single playoff team (which could be the case if the Broncos, Falcons, and Dolphins all lose this week) makes the season feel like a lost opportunity.
That’s why I want to turn Seaside Joe around and focus on you today: The 2,135th straight day of this newsletter is your chance to air your grievances or share your appreciation for the Seahawks and the people — GM, HC, OC, QB, etc. — who took part in Seattle’s 9-7 record going into a season finale against the Rams in which the stakes are anything but winning the NFC West.

John Schneider was as untouchable as anyone in the organization for a long time. He was seen, if anything, as the person doing the most to offset any "mistakes" by Pete Carroll and given a lot of credit for Seattle's good draft picks, while letting Pete take the blame for the bad picks. We've even seen teams like the Lions and Packers try to poach John Schneider as GM in recent years. But does his first season as GM deserve praise or should he be under pressure to still be the GM?
