As for Stafford, I was surprised at his poor showing, but same for the whole team. My daughter lives in Australia, works for Amazon and flies all over the world, regularly. She does what the Rams did, just powers through but, she doesn’t go head to head with 240# linemen. The rams did a stupid. I am however impressed/antagonized by the play of the 49ers. I understand that one week is Just one week, but what a week they had.
The Hawks opener was a low scoring affair with waaaay too many bonehead penalties. Is it just me or does it seem like there were more penalties, turnovers, and high scoring games across the league in week one? Hawks need to clean up the penalties and rev up the offense. I’m confident, just hope they get after it asap. So glad to be back in football season, the wobble in my universe has smoothed out.
In other news my wife and I will be in hot & sunny Phoenix and Glendale for a long weekend and a very interesting athletic contest. We do an away game every year.
I predict (where's the drum roll?) a Hawks win, with Lock throwing accurately and otherwise being a good-not-foolish game manager.
I have no doubt about our D, pass game and ST. I do wonder what our run game will look like. Price with 65 rush yards would be cool esp. if some of those come at crucial points. Joining the pass game in a big way? Yes please! (Will J.Love & Allgeier will get over 100 rushing?)
I'm hoping Emmanuel Wilson looks something like his best 2025 self and moves chains when needed.
Some pleasant surprises from Arroyo, and Barnyard dominance will be needed to offset the usual McBride performance.

I just don’t see Walker as a lynch type back that can carry a heavy workload without missing multiple games. Therefore I believe the Seahawks made a good decision for the team.
As far as an another backup QB on the practice squad I see no reason. If the HC does not think he will be old for an extended period we should be good.
Hasselbeck says that Week 1 is fool’s gold, and that offenses typically have the advantage.
That said, the Seahawks defense looked like the Seahawks defense. Time will tell if OCs can out scheme it and then if Macdonald has a counterpunch.
Price looked real. He made good decisions, is quick enough to get to the edge, and turns upfield quickly.
Lock looked mature. He’s got a strong arm that can win or lose games, and it seems that he’s reeled it in. Operationally, he should be able to improve quickly, given that he had to come off the bench for a first time play caller. With a few years on the team, significant preseason snaps, and is now #1 with a mini-bye, he’s set up for success.
I think the Seahawks were not impostors in Week 1. If anything, the dumb penalties were the early season anomaly.
The Cards playing well? Niners-Rams in the Jet Lag Bowl? Looks like fool’s gold to me.
Agree on Adams, the WR aging curve is brutal and many WR have fallen off the cliff long before his age. Same could be said off Mike Evans, though, and he had a good game. Kaelon Black looked good too. Stafford is one tough hit from career over with a higher probability due to his chronic back issue. He's batty to keep playing. I hope he walks out of his career beaten, but still intact.
Plus, Lock knows the players, knows the coaches, knows the culture, and knows the playbook. When the alternative is Jimmy G, continuity becomes a big factor.
BTW, Lock and JSN have teamed up for two of the more memorable touchdown passes in recent Hawks history.
I’m happy that K9 has found a team to use him as RB1. I still feel he’s better suited to RB1A. 23 runs plus 3 receptions (26 total touches) off the top of my head is certainly more that he had in a regular season game last year by at least 5. If he continues to carry the ball 20 plus times every game, I’d be shocked if he can finish the season. The Seahawks want to use at least 2 RBs to shoulder the load and keep them on the field. It’s difficult enough to keep an RB on the field no matter how durable they’ve been. Given the number of games K9 missed in his 4 years with the Seahawks, using him as a workhorse is shortsighted. Perhaps his touches will decrease in the coming weeks.
And his touches were man-style -- he had 11 broken tackles apparently, most of any RB in Week 1. And that's what I saw too, he was running tough and fighting for the extra yard.
I really miss having him on the team, always felt like a secret weapon in that Seattle got dissed for drafting him so high but then watching him destroy defenses, like yesterday. More than validating the pick. I had also thought he was hand-picked by MacDonald given that Michigan/Michigan State game where Walker scored like 5 TD's against MacDonald's defense.
But I'm excited about JP too, he really looks like the real deal and the economics are favorable in that like you say, it's highly unlikely Walker makes it through the season unscathed.
I was surprised K9 was still getting the ball after the game was over. My guess is Walker wants to get more carries, so they kept him in after it was a blowout. Eventually that will bite KC and K9. I think Price will work his way up to 14-17 carries a game, and if he averages over 5 yards a carry, that’s going to be fine as long as he’s still healthy for the playoffs.
