The draft is going to be very telling about how they are approaching the team construction.
I'm also curious how much cap space they have left. They are signing lots of guys on the cheap. Only Big Cat and Noah Fant were considered spendy. Consider they started with over 50 million in space I also wonder about training camp cuts and bargains after the draft.
I would love to get DJ Reader... maybe he'd sign for around 14m? He'd be a NT anchor for the next 3yrs next to Big Cat. That might be a little too much for JS now, though, in this rebuild.
SSJ, I'm wondering if you'd agree with the general "tell" that this is Seattle not quite tanking, but being extra careful and deliberate for next steps. Basically, they'll fill holes, but this is also very much a dress rehearsal with cheap parts you may just sub out again in 2025. I ask that, because they also don't have enough draft picks to be very close to anything beyond .500 this coming season. MMMMMaybe they land a QB. Maybe they shore up the trenches, which they truly must do. And if you do that, you could be somewhat competitive. But the chess moves so far suggest just filling holes, not trying to find very specific skills for the new D.
My understanding is those tenders can be rescinded at any time, do depending on the draft, maybe all of them aren't a lock to be here next year. DT better get his attitude adjusted if he's going to stick on a Mike Mac team. Woolen too.
How far off is my theory at what Jon Schneider and coaching staff may be considering in regards to their approach to signing free agents to back fill positions of need, as well as why next years compensatory picks are being highly valued.
I regards to lower priced free agents, this may be due to not repeating their overspending issue they just went through and still have productive players.
Also they could be leaving significant money under the cap for when rosters are out to 53 players, mid season trade(s) and for more money under the 2025 salary cap.
The compensatory picks are to cover some, that is only some of the draft capital they will need to move up to draft a QB, either this year or next year.
This may go along with your 2025 and 2026 salary cap projection you spoke of a few days ago.
All good first moves, especially Harris. Not the guy I would have gone after but at least they got a center! They are still in high need of quality ISLB's , But it's early yet.
Bobby signed for 8.5 million and that might qualify for a comp pick. Even if it doesn’t, it will help in preserving the Brooks comp pick when the Seahawks sign their own interior linebackers.
I was just reading about Jenkins and Fant signing on another channel, when I finished reading I was a bit confused about a few things and immediately thought i'D Better check in here and see what you are reporting. Right on schedule, there was this update available.
Good signings. How are comp picks holding up, SSJ?
When he was originally with us, my seatmate and I were constantly yelling for Wilson to throw it to “Fant”. Made like 2 catches one year and the stadium loved it
The lack of activity at LB makes me think they have some draft targets.
Junior Colson and/or Jerimiah Trotter Jr. coming to mind right off the bat.

We got a linebacker.

Annnnnd just like that, Reader going to DET. This is fun!
I see Devon White and Justin Simmons will be visiting.

Well Joe strike Kendricks off the LB list.

Or I may be way off on my theory.

I love this time of year. The possibilities seem endless, and we haven’t yet hit the doldrums of May -July.

Wow… thanks for posting; a comp pic for Wagner would be a very pleasant surprise!

Rhatty is going to replace Belloire at a cheaper price. Good move
Exactly what I was saying. And that long haired hippy wearing Mack’s jersey (38 should be in the Ring of Honor!!!!) is back as well.
Then, out of the box came Fant2 and Fant1.
They ran to us--fast!
They said "How do you do,
would you like to shake hands with Fant1 and Fant2?"
That is going to be very confusing when Fant lines up eligible next to Fant! Very deceptive.
Seahawks doing a great job covering some bases allowing them to go best player available in draft. Good work IMO
