Barkley will be kept at 100 yards rushing and fewer than 20 receiving. Daniel Jones won’t even cross the 150 yard mark passing.

Colby Parkinson gets another TD.

Geno Smith celebrates his Jaguars Domination Anniversary with a similar performance.

Finally the Visions article. I have been waiting all week for this!!

Walker was the FedEx Ground player of the week. The Giants are going to sell out to stop Walker on the ground, even though their run D has been a weakness. They are going to fix it this week gosh darn it!

So. And despite the inclement conditions (rain, wind likely) this will be Geno's first 4TD through the air day. The TEs will be the main recipients (could be Dissly, could be Parkinson, could be Fant) as the LBs bite again and again on P/A. But at least one of those TDs will go to Walker via a pass, and he will still get to 100 yards on the ground.

On D, Barkley will get his touches but the Giants will score just one TD on the ground and none through the air. Seahawks are favored by 3 but just like last week the Seahawks will make the spread-setters look silly. 28-16 Hawks win.

Some of these reported 'Trade News' are SO pretend...we may as well report a trade between the Unicorns and the Sandmen to swap St Elmo's Fire for Pretty in Pink...

"This just in - Thursday Night Football has moved to the Marvel Universe. Disney Channel to air"

As for my wish list:

1) K-9 out-runs Saquon Barkley. (Tie - cool. The rookie and the superstar performed to a standoff)

2) G-7 out-runs Daniel Jones. (Check! - He out threw him as well)

3) The Seahawk rookies on D are responsible for at least two Major plays (turnovers, sacks, safety, etc.). Mafe sack...was that it? Oh, the whole D rocked it - very cool.

4) Michael Dickson drops one inside the 5-yard-line. (Not a fail - but not quite. However since the punt coverage team got two Huge turnovers, this was a Big 'check'!)

and

5) Pete throws off his headphones with at least a minute to go! (This was the MOST important one - and - Yes!)

I agree with the Dissly love, it was never realistic for DK to play and not be anything more than a decoy at best so obviously the TE's need to pick up the slack. However, all the Seahawk TE's are capable so I'd be looking more towards 2 TD's from the trio. But I am starting Dissly in fantasy so there's that.

I want to see KW3 have another fantastic day, overshadow Barkley by a mile and put his name into contention for not just offensive rookie of the year but offensive player of the year. The kid has amazing talent and a coach/offensive coordinator who will give him every opportunity to accomplish that. I love Pete Ball when it's working, there's nothing better than running wild on the other team.

I've seen a couple Giant games and I think the way to stop them is to limit Barkley's explosive runs and stop Jones from leaking out the backside. Staying home will be key and if the Giants can't run effectively then they're done. Make Jones a passer and good things happen for the opposing team.

Walker will out-rush Barkley by 70 or so yards.

Geno will pass for about 50 more yards than Jones.

And…Either Woolen or Bryant with have an INT.

It goes without saying that Seattle wins this one by at least 10.

I see Eskridge having a 'day'. It's time for him to get going! I like the tight ends getting significant touches which will create huge opportunities in the 2nd half for a couple of monster runs by K9. Wow...high on the Hawks!

Was Curhan's play really questionable? He allowed a sack right after he went into the game but I see that or a hold fairly often when a backup first enters a game. He did such good job last year that some people were clamoring for him to be the starting right guard.

Interesting game. We have two of the hottest running backs against two of the worst run defenses in the league. Seattle clearly has a superior passing game but Jones' legs are bit of an equalizer. If Seattle can stop the run I don't think the Giants can move the ball just passing but that's a big if.

Visions

I agree with the TEs playing an important role against a defense keyed to stop the run. I'll say Dissly gets one TD, Parkinson gets one TD, and Fant gets stopped at the one yard line.

Lockett gets two tds and over a 100 yards receiving.

K9 gets two TDs.

This will be about containment, not sacks. Neal will again be an important factor and will be second in tackles behind Brooks. Jackson will be third.

Al Woods and Poona Ford will again play pivotable roles in stopping the run up the middle and forcing Barkley outside. Boye Mafe needs a big game to contain the edge but Darrell Taylor trying to stop Barkley scares the hell out of me. I might make Taylor inactive for this game. Barton will play more snaps because we'll likely be in the base defense more often. Barton's success or failure could be the key to the game.

My vision is that they win this game without Metcalf and Lockett. At the beginning of the season, I would have called this a hallucination. Now, I believe they could pull it off. As for the specifics:

*Tariq Woolen reminds Daniel Jones that he is still Daniel Jones by getting pick #5

*The defense plays rough with Saquon Barkley and holds him to a season-low in rushing (hey, if the Panthers can do it…)

*KW3 shows the league that he is a threat as a receiver with a nice 5/50 day

*Uchenna Nwosu coverts those pressures into two sacks

My vision - Saquan is going to get his 100, he’s just too damn good. We need to a couple of good hits on the Danny Dimes designed runs to put him off doing that again in a hurry. Barton, relieved of coverage duty as the Giants pass game is shat down in the rain, has a good day at last laying the wood on Saq and Jones.

Shane goes jumbo package at a record amount and basically tries to beat up the Giants front seven. He keep Ken fresh by sprinkling in DeeJay so Ken can run amok in the second half.

DK goes for another ride on a cart, just for the damn hell of it.

Maybe not the article to ask this, but the 3 games Geno started last year looked very underwhelming. What is the difference this year...

In the quantum physics of football, 'Visions' include ALL possible outcomes so one can't 'know' if the Seahawks will win. Having said that I'll go out on a limb and predict the dynamic duo of Cross and Lucas allow Geno and K-9 have a big day against the Giants. D will stop the run then feed on the QB. I envision a blowout as as likely an outcome as any.

Seahawks win 34-20.

I love the “Office Space” reference - maybe Daniel was hypnotized, installed Peter’s “no Fs given” attitude, & tells “the Bobs about it -

Stretching - Zach Wilson (questionable dating choices?) playing Lawrence, the neighbor banging the wall, and G-men fans showing “O” faces at every narrow 4th quarter win!

Speaking of a Vision that just struck me:

What if when it’s all said and done, Geno Smith actually gets an MVP vote.

Is that the ultimate catharsis

Two for four on visions!

Got:

* Barkley held to season-low rushing

* Nwosu gets two sacks

Missed:

* Woolen gets a fifth INT (In fairness to me, the Gints rarely threw at him)

* Walker goes 5/50 receiving (1/1–even Babe Ruth struck out, but this one is a whiff with gale force winds)

Maybe I should quit while I’m even.

I just read an excellent article about the Giants this year from The Guardian Oliver Connolly from the 27th. I am going to insert a few quotes to show how the Giants are winning.

"All of their victories have been in one-score games, something that would typically be a warning sign of a team whose luck could change."

So what's the "secret sauce for the Giants? Here it is in a nutshell:

"Right now, the Giants offense boils down to finding out the one thing that works and running it until the opponent proves they can stop it. They match that on the other side of the ball. Martindale is at the vanguard of all things modern defense. But what he’s doing this season is without precedent. Martindale has never met a down, distance or situation where he did not want to blitz."

Another story from the New York press has touted the Giant's second half comebacks to better coaching and adjustments, especailly at halftime. The Giants have outscored their first five opponents 70 to 39 in the seoncd half. One other caveat. Their opponents have turned the ball over and the at key moments changing the game. 8 of those were fumbles, and one INT. They wear their oponents down with the running game and take advantage of that in the second half. A page from Pete's Marshawn strategy.

Again vs Green Bay Martindale took away Rodgers productive short completions to the backs in the flat after halftime negating their blitz package. GB did not adjust and the offense came to a halt.

So let's start with Daniel Jones and Barkley who is also their leading receiver. Jones get called with QB keepers and read option. You have to spy him. Barkley is their main weapon so you do what Belechick would do. Limit his production and make Jones beat you. Maybe not the easiest task but this is where the safety's come in. Run blitz, just like Martindale does. Get into the backfield before momentum and hamper his routes.

Martidale is willing to live or die by the blitz. If you have a receiver like Lockett, Goodwin (I don't think Metcalf plays) and Disley, you have chemistry. Throw the ball to a spot on the sideline or an out and up hot read. You can use Homer and Walker the same way like Dabol uses Barkely. Geno has to get rid of the ball quickly with blitzhappy Martindale in town.

If the runner get's through the first line of defense Walker could have another big day. Blitzing leaves one on one coverage. (Seattle must disguise there's well. Geno is proving to be a savvy vet. Jones is still a mystery)

Seattle wins if they

1. Win the turnover battle (Jones is due for some headscatching decisions)

2. Understand that to stop the offense you have to stop Barkley and make Jones beat you.

3. This is a rain game. RB and TE will make a big difference in this one.

4. Move Geno out of the pocket more in the second half

Dallas had a good day running against the Giants. They pressured and sacked Jones and didn't leave a gap up the middle to escape. Rush had a good day as well. Lockett, Disley and Homer are good rain players.

The Giants aren't going to suprise anyone with what they do. The Giants haven't seen anyone like Walker this year, especially on wet turf.

Seattle needs to show up in the second half on both sides of the ball. Make Sunday turnover Thursday.

Shake Jones confidence an let the crowd temper it.

I expect Young to get some action this week if Metcalf is out. Use him like SF would use Debo, (look at his college film) especuially on a wet field. (No Young sighting last week) He's 6'2", 224lbs with a 4.44 40 and there's almost no film on him. Save his packages for the second half.

This will be a close one that could go either way or Seattle might change the Giants reality this Sunday by scoring points on a rainy day and making them play catch up. Seattle must have 0 turnovers. Rain in Seattle might just might mean a full glass.

Go Hawks
