Entertainment trivia. In the first 4 games of this week's schedule, no one covered and all the favorites lost. 2 of those games were less than 3 points so no big upset.
As to the question around the Seahawks inability to keep teams down after jumping on them, I think to a large degree that's just how a lot of games play out. We're up, so the Seahawks play low risk football, run the ball, and try to wind the clock. The other team plays high risk, 4 down football. I think we would be better protecting those big leads if were getting more takeaways, especially picks......but that's not been a strength this year. And we've given the ball away too much. I think if we could take the ball away more consistently, we'd close games out more cleanly.
As to aligning Seahawk players to animals, I think we need to get away from the barnyard. Chickens and Pigs? Please. Woolen is clearly a cheetah. Fast as hell, but will only run you down from behind.....and will not square you up head on. Spoon.....a wolverine. Not that big, but an absolute terror, and scared of nothing. Cooper Kupp is a wise old owl, that swoops in for a catch every now and then. Byron Murphy......an ox. Mess with him and you'll get the horns! JSN is a tricky one. I'll go with snow leopard. Stealthy, and as difficult as a ghost to try to catch.
Oh wow…humble pie examples. I say this as believing John Schneider is an absolute top tier GM…..my examples for humble pie are every veteran OL free agent signed by the Seahawks from about 2015 until…..now. OK maybe there were a couple that were barely OK at best. But that’s it.
The Salvation Army Color Guard was holding the flag, so they weren't service members. And I didn't see the cheerleader signing the anthem "gyrating" any time the camera showed her. Certainly no more expressive than many others I have seen.
JS has been excellent in dangling a player out on the waiver wire, knowing nobody would snap them up. So I am scratching my head over this Derion Kendrick loss back to the Rams. Maybe he wasn't a fit in the locker room? Yeah, his lazy zone angle on the return for a Titan TD didn't speak well for his play, so maybe MM was making a point to everybody that he will not abide lazy play. Ever. Playing all-out hard here is more than a commitment, it's an obligation. Woolen seems to have got the message. It's something Asst. Head Coach Leslie Frazier's experience would recommend.
Galloway held out in 1999; the team had a better record without him.
Anyway, he and Holmgren never got along. However Galloway might have performed in Holmgren’s offense, there’s no doubt that the team was better off with Alexander and Robinson.
Galloway tested Holmgren from the beginning. I’ve never been sure why, as Holmgren could have been great for JG’s career. Maybe they just never connected.
You say, “ride out Nwosu’s contract and draft an edge rusher in 2026.” YES! So many people pounding the table for a Crosby trade. I say use that first round draft pick to get one and see what we can do coaching him up to play with Hall, Chenna and D-Law. JSN is going to cost! Last night ‘The Hawks Nest’ revealed his revelation that JS purposely low balled the offer to Geno last year because he didn’t feel he was the answer to the Hawks need at QB, and he knew Geno would want out. I could have help him figure that out 9 months ago.
I think I would be more inclined to cut Nwosu for the $11.5 million in cap savings, resign Mafe on a reasonable deal, increase Law's snaps and draft a new edge rusher in 2026.
One thing is for certain, we would really benefit from finding a big time edge rusher in the draft. I have heard this is a red draft overall, but EGDE is one of the better positions as far as depth of quality players go. Love to see Edge in round 1 and IOL in round 2.
Re the humble pie. Both Browner and Maxwell. Malcolm. Missing someone. Have to go back and look.

For a humble pie, I always think of the Mariners losing Griffey and then A-Rod and then winning the most games in MLB history.
I would trade a world series appearance for win record any day.
So freaking close this year. Man

Happy Thanksgiving SSJ and family and all the 12s!
Don’t want to speak out of school but the national anthem in the Chiefs/Cowboys game was a bit weird and I thought inappropriate.
On the one hand, our men in uniform holding the flag while a trumpet plays a haunting rendition of the National Anthem. Goosebumps
On the other hand, next to him a barely dressed Cowboys cheerleader doing the signing while gyrating.
I’m a fan of our Armed Forces, of our flag and of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, the more scantily dressed the better.
But together?? Like this?? Please.

I stand corrected on the armed forces. She was def gyrating though, especially compared to any other signer I’ve ever seen
Elevated heart beat will make your eyeballs jump, Zez. Just sayin'...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How could it be sitting right there in front of you and you didn't swing at it? JSN is obviously a GOAT...
If I had to pick a player to be a pig, I'd go with Kupp.

Earl Thomas (not to mention the Seahawks) would have been better off coming to terms with his situation in Seattle.
Happy Thanksgiving to all Seasiders!
Here’s the story on the Galloway trade (for two #1s, one of whom became Shaun Alexander; the other, after some maneuvering, became Koren Robinson):

Great info. I wasn't aware of the contentious relationship. I thought it was a numbers issue, i.e. draft picks versus salary.
Galloway tested Holmgren from the beginning. I’ve never been sure why, as Holmgren could have been great for JG’s career. Maybe they just never connected.
Jerry loves his WR trades for 1st round picks.
Cheers for the Thanksgiving article and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Here is my contribution to the farm animal portion:
Los Angeles Rams: they are all turkeys and will prove it by having a turkey game against us at the end of the year.
Rick Mirer and any one!

What does red draft mean? Not sure I've heard that phrase before.
This steady is not suppose to be deep overall. It looks like a combination of typos and autocorrect came out red
autocorrect = sure incorrect.
one can go to the 3 dots ( ... ) 'n Edit.
I was traveling yesterday and using my phone. I can type at all on the phone, and if I try and edit, I wind up with even more typos somehow.
Yep and RB in round 3.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND BEGAW!
