I think I'm just about over my Second Half Of The First Game Blues, and am almost back to my usual optimistic self. I could see JSN & Jake Bobo both having big games from the slot, Kenneth Walker ripping off a 60+ yard run, and DJ Dallas getting one great runback. All of that leading to 30'ish points. Cinnci has to pass a lot but but our defense is up to the challenge and holds them to, say, 24 points.

Expect Burrows to return to his elevated performance level. Assuming a "calf injury" is a muscle tear or bruising, it heals fast and returns stronger with exercise. Tendon and ligament issues are another matter, needing time and rest to regain optimal performance. His healing curve indicates it is a muscular issue. Maybe he's one of those incredible athletes who can adjust his play to a bum limb. The return of Jamal and the increased experience of our young DBs should have him running for dear life, sparking a feeding frenzy up front. Better yet, if Geno grasps a fuller understanding of 3rd down opportunities, we can expect a real show, keeping Joe on the bench. Cinncy is a proud crew who can elevate beyond all expectations. Let's hope we don't see a Rams redux? Nah. Jamal is a Man on a Mission, and healthy (finally). Cincinnati is about to reap the Whirlwind.

Hard game to get a read on for sure. Cincy seems to be coming back into form, but they looked so inept early on it's hard to know whether to trust the last game. Hopefully the extra week to game plan will help, we'll improve somewhat on 3rd down's (offense and defense) and we head for home 4-1.

It was interesting Pete's comments yesterday before practice. Someone asked him about how the players returned after the week off, and if he was happy with that he saw. He basically said "I don't know that yet. We need to see them today (Wednesday)." I think he's really paying attention to the young players, and making sure they don't lose any momentum coming off the break. Hopefully he gets in their heads, and gets them ready to roll.

A fast start for once would be great. Get up on them, make an already one dimensional offense even more predictable, and get after them.

Two teams full of big potential and equally big question marks...

The Richard Sherman call out on A.J. Green was one of the more interesting parts of the 1st episode of the Season of Boom on the Seahawks YouTube channel.

from Field Gulls : One thing to note is that our SB Nation Writers’ Mock Draft had Seattle taking Tyree Wilson (Mookie Alexander's pick) at #5 and Michael Mayer (John Gilbert’s pick) at No. 20. While I wrote at the time that Wilson wasn’t even among my top two choices, I still went with him and he was undeniably one of the more common names chosen by mock drafters. The Las Vegas Raiders took both players and so far they’ve done nothing. ESPN names Wilson as the biggest underperformer with his 0 sacks and a 4.3% pass rush win rate, while Mayer has 3 catches for 41 yards on 5 targets.

The Tyree Wilson projection and eventual pick was so odd to me. I understood he’s big but he couldn’t even test. Very strange.

The only result from this game that would surprise me is a blowout in either direction. I expect it to be close with either team equal chance coming out the victor. Basically a toss up. Gimme Seattle 31-28.

Cross and Adams coming back... Cross will be a boon for sure and if Adams is actually ok to play it may be a difficult day for Burrow and Co.

Do we have any data really that Bradford is "the backup" or "starter" at this point? He has looked pretty darn good out there.

I haven't seen any clear indication thus far Bradford has been elevated to starter status yet. I think it's an open question what the OL will look like this week beyond Cross, all the other positions seem to be up in the air with multiple configurations possible. Injury report Friday might clarify that a bit.
