In his post-fanfest press conference on Saturday, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters that quarterback Geno Smith would have another test done on his ailing hip/knee today and then re-evaluate after those results come back. But Macdonald didn’t hesitate to say that he expects to see Geno back in practice next week.
What would the Seahawks do at quarterback if Geno Smith was not ready for Week 1’s game against the Denver Broncos? What about Abe Lucas, Jerome Baker, and Dre’Mont Jones, three other key starters who are missing a little bit more than “a day or two” of practices because of injuries? What would Seattle do next at those positions and how much outside help might the Seahawks need at quarterback, linebacker, and tackle if the situations were dire?
