Many Seahawks fans are skeptical that the team has done an adequate job of setting themselves up for next season and the future at the quarterback position. This was a common theme in this week’s request for your “Seahawks Truths”, that Sam Darnold and Jalen Milroe are anything but acceptable solutions to a problem that has been on-again/off-again for the last 50 years, but I want to offer two reasons for optimism.

One optimistic point of view for why either quarterback could be more than enough, and another that addresses Seattle’s chances of winning a Super Bowl even if the doubts about them are justified with mediocre play.

Which is not to say that I’m opposed to skepticism, doubts, criticism, or good old fashioned pessimism. In fact, those are all valuable tools of the trade.

I actually just found it easier to think of reasons to be optimistic about the state of the Seahawks than causes for concern. That doesn’t make skeptics wrong. At this stage we still have no idea if a team with a new quarterback, a new offensive coordinator, a second-year head coach, and an offense that is probable to have more new starters than returning ones will win 13 games or lose 13 games.

The Seattle Seahawks are an enigma.

But if you felt that the team was stuck in a state of repeating the same “just over .500” season year after year, then a mysterious version of the Seahawks could be preferable to the familiar one.

First, here are some more of your fair, astute, and honest takes on Seattle’s two high-profile quarterback acquisitions (sorry, Drew Lock):
