That was really beautiful. A Seahawk through and through and, even more important, just a really great guy. KJ, Wagner, Sherman, Chancellor -- heck, even Thomas. That was a special team and a special time.

Ah man, that’s really touching. I’m glad KJ will always be a Seahawk, and like to think that Bobby can find a way to forgive and do likewise after a season with the dirty effing Rams. The two just seem inseparable to me.

So thanks for the all the memories, KJ. Hope you can find your way onto the staff, coach up the young guns and continue to give up your time for Kenneth when he comes calling.

KJ is truley one of the best leaders Seattle has ever had the good fortune of employing. An emposing six feet four inches with incredibly long arms. Him and Bobby Wagner were shinning lights in how you prepare for, each season, each game and each play. I don't know if KJ or Kam Chancellor would like to help coach our incoming young talent In the off season. Being a regular coach is such a rigorous schedule, neither one is in a position of needing to do that. Those two along with Cliff Avril whonis already doing this would set a high standard for the young talent to follow. In closing Chris Carson and KJ should be raising the flag this year. I suggest KJ for game one against the Bronco's. KJ has also earned a place in the ring of honor !!!!!

So long K J Wright !

I can't believe your song is gone so soon.

Outside Backers come, and Ouside Backers go,

Never change your point of view.

When I run dry

I'll stop awhile and think of you.

Outside Backers come, and Ouside Backers go,

Never change your point of view.

So long, so long.

I always liked KJ, but it was your newsletter that opened my eyes to how much he was being picked on in coverage and made him leaving something I could better understand and less painful. Truly the end of an era with Russ, Bobby, and KJ now gone forever.

On another topic covered here, it's one thing to be "big leagued" by Marshawn, but another entirely by Justin Britt. He was a high draft pick, but that's no excuse to be an ass. He deserves to play for Houston for such a diss!

Great diary!

Back in 2011 on a trip to St. Louis, I watched the Seahawks beat the Rams 24-7 in a stifling defensive performance. After a slow start, the Hawks were two games into a 5-1 stretch; for the first time, I could see where Pete Carroll wanted to take the team. What I most remember is this LB who was all over the field but always around the ball. By the second quarter, I reached for my program to see just who this #50 was. I wasn’t familiar with K.J. Wright at the time, but I knew that I would be hearing his name a lot in seasons to come. It’s great that he could retire as a Seahawk. Nest stop: Ring of Honor.

Yes, I know it's one practice but my certainty that Lock will start the season as QB1 is dwindling. I wish Russell was as selfless and loyal as KJ.
