On defence, I can buy the ‘new team needs time to gel’ argument. I do expect and hope they improve during the season. Not sure I buy that argument on offence. Same QB, TE’s, top 2 WR’s, 4 of 5 o-linemen (until injuries). Doesn’t really fit, does it. Shane needs to make a difference soon for this offence.
Geno turning down that throw to Bobo……lordie. Where are his eyes?
My expectations have been lowered due to the injuries to the two tackles. I’m not sure there are Teo more important players (due to difference in talent to backup and position).
The coaching staff hasn’t changed and neither has the rest of the team, however, I liked joes article this week. Some guys are on notice and that includes Waldron and Geno. I’m throwing DK in there too.
I also want to go on record and say that Curhan is better than Joe thinks 😀. Wish we could bet a cup of coffee on it. But I think he will do fine (not good but not terrible and good in run).
Feel free to roast away on Monday when Jake gives up 3 sacks 😂
Yeah him and Geno both basically saying they weren't prepared and didn't want it more is concerning... that's a division rival and a team with something to prove! How are you unprepared and not giving 100%?
My expectations took a major drop last week and I've reverted to the position I had last year which is to expect nothing and hope for the best. Until Adams and Witherspoon play I have little hope for this defense. Coby Bryant allows too much separation at nickel cornerback, so until Witherspoon takes over there will always be a weak link in our defense.
Our offense won't play well unless Geno plays well, and one game has all but destroyed my optimism that had sustained me this entire off season. JSN and Bobo cannot help this team unless Geno targets them, and so far that has not happened enough.
Thanks for the perspective, as usual. 65-1 when leading by 4 or more at half? THAT is impressive. It also is terrifying that it has now happened twice in a row (over 2 different seasons with different players, yes). My inner Chicken Little started to cluck away, but your damn confounded level-headed reasoning has talked him into the possibility it is just an acorn. Although, he is still looking up, just in case.
Now, channeling my inner J.T. O'Sullivan, here: That fleaflicker play was a straight turndown by Geno. WTH are we looking at, man? The play is designed to go to the post. Let it rip! I mean, what are we doing here? Ok, I get it. We get the ball out to the flat for the check-down, but c'mon. I don't know the exact design, so maybe the corner is the 1 and the post is 2. Maybe the corner was the 1st read. It wasn't there. So, we check to the flat. I get it. Color flashed. But, the post is there. We gotta see that and get it out there. We gotta get those chunk plays when they're there. -J.T. O'Shaymus
It was a turndown for sure, but he felt that pressure. The problem with the play is that all Geno's momentum is going the wrong direction for a long throw when he gets the ball pitched to him. He couldn't get his hips around and feet set before the edge rusher was coming at him. DJ Dallas needed to hold that block better instead of just chipping the guy. All that being said, Geno could have made the throw and taken the hit.
Well, OK, maybe, gee wizz. ...
Perhaps Gregg McCall isn't all that great after all. He faces off against actual NFL level talent and falls flat on his face. UCLA 27-13

Did you folks happen to see who was the highest rated rookie (at all positions) in the first week?
Jalen Carter DT - Think he would have looked GREAT in a Seahawks Uniform!!!

I am still trying to process what DK said about his lack of effort. That just really shocked me.

Baffling.
Here's a question: Why can we not defend short passes or the middle of the field?

Detroit DC Aaron Glenn was Pete Carroll’s first first-round pick as a head coach (NYJ, 1994/12th overall).
I saw Hutchinson shred KC’s OL last week. Hope we have a solution for that dude.
Seriously, if we hit Bobo, it could have been an actual game-changing play.
My bad, it wasn't a corner. It was a deep comeback. But, regardless, the post has to, at worst, be the 2nd read.
