Seahawks could really be that good
In order to find out how good these Seahawks could actually be, we have to look in the past before they can write the future
In honor of Back to the Future’s 40th anniversary, here’s a quote by actor Michael J. Fox — from his book Lucky Man, or so I’m told — about not getting your hopes up: “My happiness grows in direct proportion to my acceptance, and in inverse proportion to my expectations.”
If high expectations leads to unhappiness, then let me start today’s Seaside Joe with a trigger warning for Seahawks fans:
This newsletter may give you extremely high expectations for the 2025 Seahawks based on the first six games. If you or someone you know has recently experienced Sam Darnold and think you need help, please call the national fanatics hotline at 1-800-SPR-BWL? or contact a Jets fan immediately. Share this with Seahawks fans who you may be seeking support groups for Jaxon Smith-Njigbachosis:
Since the Seahawks have not recently started a season as well as they’re playing through six games, and because there are so many new players on offense including Darnold, I could not directly compare this team to the last few years. That just gave me even more incentive to find out what this feeling* is like by comparing the 2025 Seahawks to similar teams in 2024 and recent seasons.
*this feeling
The crazy answer? The Seahawks could be better than the 2024 teams most similar to them right now.
