What is your Seahawks luxury item?
Compiling the best Seahawks-related items that you own: Seaside Joe 1950
Seaside Jay and I have recently finished watching the first seven seasons of Survivor as a build-up to season eight’s Survivor All-Stars, which is a perfect excuse to talk about “luxury items” as this is the point in the series history when the show stops talking about luxury items. Essentially, a luxury item is one thing that contestants are allowed to bring with them to the island with some rules and restrictions on what’s allowed, of course.
You can’t bring 25 roasted geese to eat, for example, but maybe a picture of you with your favorite goose back home as a reminder of what you’ll have to return to when your adventure ends.
(You may not care about this particular show and that’s 100% fine, but I love the feelings I get during my reality show binges when my favorite characters return for another go, which I can best compare to Marshawn Lynch coming back to the Seahawks in 2019 except sometimes these contestants last longer than a few weeks.)
You know, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about “stuff”. When I’m having extreme clarity of thought, I tell myself that an ideal life would be that of a minimalist. As it turns out though, this is just a way to pass the time between impulse shopping for nicknacks and merch online and the only reason to be alive these days is so that you can be a consumer for the greater good.
So even if you have never watched one episode of Survivor or if you’re more of a “pattywack person” than a “nicknack needer”, I can guarantee that 100% of the people here right now can at least relate on one subject of acceptable and necessary consumer squeezing:
The Seattle Seahawks.
Stuff.
Seahawks stuff.
I’m curious then to find out: What is your most prized Seahawks possession? Either something that you bought, or a gift, something you were able to just get for free, or maybe just something nostalgic like grass or dirt or any of Earth’s elements.
Believe it or not, I’ve never been big on buying NFL merchandise. I can’t explain why that is exactly, maybe I just don’t think I look good in the clothes and I’ve never been the proactive about me-themed home decor, but I don’t known that I have one Seahawks-related “luxury item” that stands out.
My most prized Seahawks-related luxury items that I own would be gifts I’ve recieved from people who read Seaside Joe: A Grayson McCall jersey from Chuck and a set of crystals from Charley. I would say these are probably the two items I cherish the most based on my relationship with the Seahawks, even if they aren’t specifcally Seahawks-related.
(We’ll see if Seattle can change that in the draft next year with McCall.)
Even if I had something really cool, a Pete Carroll-signed pair of Nikes or the hand that Richard Sherman used to swat away Colin Kaepernick’s pass in the NFC Championship, I know that it wouldn’t be able to compare to the COLLECTIVE COLLECTION of the thousands of Seahawks fans who read this newsletter. So I really want to hear what your most prized Seahawks-related possession is, where you got it, and what it means to you. Even if you’re this guy:
Share your best Seahawks prized possessions in the comments, or just peruse the comments to find out if someone stole something from you and now you’ve finally found it, or maybe you’ll be inspired to get the same thing because the only thing I love more than buying things is getting recommendations of things I should buy.
In fact, feel free to share any of your favorite items in the comments! I’d probably love to buy one or two for myself:
Seaside Joe’s buying recs
I’ll share a couple of things I’ve discovered recently that I really enjoy and wouldn’t want to eat without:
Fly By Jing Zhong Sauce (I think you can get it at major grocery stores)
Fire Season Jalapeno Relish (I don’t think you can find this easily, but it’s my favorite topping to put on anything so you should at least look)
I’ll add a few more of my recs in the comments.
Please share your recs with me—or maybe you want to give me a pro tip on any of my recs—and I’ll keep checking the comments for updates! If there are enough submissions on Seahawks Luxury Items, I’ll do a follow-up post on the top answers.
If you think other Seahawks fans would enjoy Seaside Joe, please share on social media, forward emails to fans, or just shout us out on other Seahawks forums!

- A few other things I like: I finally got an iPad and I know this is not a new or unknown thing, but geez I should have gotten a tablet many years ago! Maybe you don't like apple products, I'm sure the other versions are just as good or better depending on what you like, but it's funny how something that should be obvious kind of just slipped past me for so many years. Do you have something like that?
- I recommend getting your sodastream tanks from a local refiller instead of the $20-$25 versions that SodaStream sells. I get mine for $8-$10 from a place called FizzFill but I'm not sure what's in your area. Also, I recommend SodaStream if you like bubbly waters.
- Breville smart oven and air fryer, we use it every day
First let me preface by saying I live in fort smith arkansas. Getting ready to paint my house...went down to sherman-williams 😉 and got authentic seahawks colored paint! In a sea of hogs whatever kind of red it is my gray blue and just a hint of rush green will stand loud and proud... will send some pics when I'm finished!
