Has Mike Morris disappointed Pete Carroll?

The Seahawks draft pick who might need to improve to make the roster

At the end of his press conference on Thursday, Pete Carroll was asked about rookie defensive linemen Cameron Young and Mike Morris. First, Carroll enthusiastically talks about the night and day difference in Young pre and post-armor. “When we got into pads, he looked like a different guy…He’s really physical and strong as hell…good instincts too…he looks like a run-defending nose tackle.”

And then Pete, knowing that he couldn’t get away with avoiding the second half of the question, had to say something about Morris.

Rarely does Pete seem lost for words and when he does, it’s usually because he’s not the type of coach who likes to a) lie or b) give negative reviews about his players to the press. In this situation, Pete had no choice..

“And, umm, you talked about Mike? Yeah, ummm…”
