That “football team” from Washington, D.C. is one of my least favorite franchises in the league because they usually give us nothing in terms of entertainment. At least I get excited when the Seahawks play the 49ers and Rams. But Washington has only given us 40 years of boring the rest of the NFL to a single tear by almost never being interesting or competitive enough.
I just want someone to tell them, “Grow up and get a quarterback”.
Washington’s only redeeming quality in my eyes is that they have an 0-3 playoff record against the Seahawks. If not for that, they should be contracted or relocated…preferably to the Moon. Changing their name every few years or selling the team to new ownership isn’t going far enough in resolving their painfully dull identity crisis, nor does it make it any easier for opposing fans to get amped up for these games.
They couldn’t even keep Jayden Daniels healthy for a full two weeks and that seemed like the least they could do. Maybe it’ll be easier on the Seahawks and maybe it won’t, but I thought I’d get to spend the rest of my days full of bliss under the assumption that I’d never have to watch a Marcus Mariota start again.
How come Mariota can quit the Falcons but I can’t seem to quit him?
Sorry but I don’t believe in jinxes. If you think that a Seahawks writer shit talking the other team before the game will adversely affect Seattle’s chances of winning, that’s fine. But if the Seahawks lose, then they lose. At least I got to air my grievances about that Washington team before it happened, and not after, in which case people will say I’m just bitter.
The only thing I’m bitter about is that every time the Seahawks play Washington, I almost instantly forget the game even happened.
I’m not asking the Moons to win, or be competitive against Seattle, but would it kill them to at least tank correctly? Let’s hope that the Seahawks help send them there and do it quickly. People are wondering if Sam Darnold will play, but if the game goes anything like last season’s (I think?), maybe instead we’ll even get to see Jalen Milroe.
Week 3 Fan Expectations Survey
The 12 Question Fan Expectations continue to evolve since the beginning and this week I’ve changed several questions:
Instead of total sacks, I’m asking which player you expect to get the most sacks
Instead of turnovers, I’m asking which player you expect to get a turnover
You now have a write-in answer for most yards by non-JSN player and special teams player of the game instead of multiple choice (thanks to Chazz Surratt)
And who do you expect to score the first touchdown?
I’ve also added the option for you to add your name so that I can award the “best expectations survey” result to one special fan after the game!
Because we don’t know for sure if Darnold is out, I’m putting “Seahawks QB” instead of a name for passing yards.
Notes to set your marks:
Lock is averaging 211 yards per game
Price is averaging 52 rushing yards per game
JSN is averaging 138 yards per game
JSN has over 5x as many yards as second-place Cooper Kupp
This has become my favorite series of the season so far. Seeing your responses (and how many there are) and getting to track them every week is exciting. Much more exciting to follow than the Washington team. So thanks!
