Just watched Joe Burrow get sacked on 3rd-and-long on their 1st overtime series, after holding the ball for at least 8 secs.
No Bengals fans clamoring for his head? No one wanting to trade him bc he got happy feet in the pocket? Nobody wanting his cap relief bc he couldn't find an open man despite having guys like Chase, Higgins and Gesicki out there?
The last couple years I’ve gotten more into local bloggers and comment boards etc. i have followed football extremely closely for 25 years as I bet. I have always heard fans complain about their starting QB but I have been very surprised with the fans opinions of Geno. It’s as if they don’t watch any other football and expect him to be perfect, which doesn’t exist.
There is a reason all of the film watchers to my knowledge have Geno as a top 10 QB. They watch all 32 QBs and can clearly see how good he is.
Also, saying anything positive about Geno and his relative skill compared to other QBs will get immediate vitriol from fans.
But yes … Seahawks fans would’ve complained non stop about that play and many others.
Of all the QB’s out there (and certainly wouldn’t thumb my nose at Mahomes, Allen or Lamar) Burrow is for me the most Seahawk because of his feistiness and aggressiveness.
I have deleted the Substack app a good half dozen times because when I am on my browser and want to click the "comments" button, it automatically opens and I despise that. I am on Firefox and want to remain there to chat with you guys. And then during the storm the app wouldn't work but if I deleted it and posted in my browser it worked, so it's almost PTSD reaction at this point. But I will download it for one night and chat with you guys while we watch two teams I hate if everyone else wants to.
I wonder if a live chat feature that was open 24/7 would be welcomed by the community, but I think about that sometimes. I imagine it would be an empty room much of the time. But I think of this group as about as close as I get to digital people. So it feels like an internet home right now. Maybe it's worth discussing?
“The team just got discombobulated by trying to build the plane around Wilson and the franchise is still trying to recover.”
I don’t see it like this. The team got discombobulated by years of blown Day 2 drafts, the extent of which Wilson masked by playing like the Top 5 QB he was.
Yeah I’m not married to what I said but I think the intention was they got discombobulated that season. And then they’re trying to go back to what they were before then.

I smell sarcasm without the need for sarcasm font. Good on you, Zeinhom.

He’s the Devon Witherspoon of QB’s
Broncos in OT. Just sacked Cinncy. Punts on 4th and 14...

Great to hear from you Chuck. How’s things going? I hope you had a great Christmas and are rebuilding without too much stress.
I'd be there so long as it was competitive, and the Cards still have a chance.

We could do a SSJ Discord group
I love this idea!

Fair enough
Whereas I mostly agree with you, one has to hand it to Kenneth for a great metaphor.

Yea, it's both. The drafting really really sucked for at least two or three years.
I’m going to watch the game. A live chat would be good. Thank you!
