How Week 4 in the NFL impacted the Seahawks
10/2/22: What else happened and how does it effect the Seattle Seahawks?
The Seattle Seahawks beat the Detroit Lions in Week 4 to improve to 4-4 and the next opponent, the New Orleans Saints, feels like they haven’t been this vulnerable since prior to the Drew Brees arrival in 2006. Nothing matters to Seaside Joe readers like the Seahawks game, but every game matters to the Sesahawks at least a little bit.
These are short recaps of every Week 4 NFL game and how the game impacts or relates to the Seahawks: former players, former coaches, opponents ahead, opponents from the past, draft order implications, trade implications, rivals, and potential glimpses into the future.

The Tua injury has already impacted every other team in the league, as the NFL was quick to update concussion protocol rules beginning immediately. The Seahawks were fined in 2017 for not following the concussion protocol rules correctly with Russell Wilson. Under the new rules, I do not believe that Wilson would have been allowed to re-enter the Cardinals game as he did — that game also happened on Thursday Night Football — and it would be risky to even have Wilson play in Seattle’s following game if that same incident occurred today. Sidney Jones IV basically missed all of training camp, a full month, because of concussion symptoms. So this is a game that significantly impacted the entire league.
