We’re seeing what a hog trough college coaching is/was. It managed to make the on-the-field equivalent of AA baseball a potentially lucrative career track that produced legends.

Possibly Kafka is appealing the Gints’ decision to a higher power. He could plausibly argue that, since Daboll calls the offensive plays in NY, the Seattle job is in effect a promotion.

No idea what the Giants are playing at, but I'd guess it's ownership not the coach that is putting up the blockers. Daboll is a piece of work, and didn't seem that enamored with his OC last year. If you're not letting him call plays, why keep him from being able to do that, other than spite?

Have read allot about Ryan Grubb, before now too- He has the work ethic and demeanor to be a very good at minimum OC in the pro's! I would be very happy with him as the guy - Let's hope it get's done! I am also assuming he has quite allot of contacts as far as filling out staff with guys that follow his work ethic and demeanor, and That all sounds great to me!

No one seems to be making anything out of the fact that Tanner Engstrand is part of the Harbaugh family coaching tree. I’m betting he’s MikMac’s #1 option

Tanner Engstrand grew up in San Diego, went to college at San Diego St., coached under Jim Harbaugh at SDSt. and Mich. so I think he's headed to the Chargers, but I'd be delighted if he comes to Seattle.

Good points, and I won’t say you’re wrong. My thinking is that in LA he’d be the 2nd-leading offensive mind; in Seattle he’d be 1st.

And Seattle is a better place to live than LA, maybe he doesn't actually like Jim Harbaugh, maybe JH doesn't really want him. Maybe a lot of things, but just connecting the dots, it looks like he's headed to the Chargers.

1800 articles and still dropping bombs like this "... Kliff Kingsbury, who spurned the Las Vegas Raiders after he looked at the contract and realized he was signing with the Raiders." Well done, Ken!

So the East Rutherford Giants demoted Kafka several times last year and stripped him of play calling duties but now they block his chance to go where he can call his own game…to avoid embarrassment? I think that ship has sailed.

This kind of thing will block the Giants having anything but fluke success. What does the organisation do when Daboll is fired part way through the season? Here, Mike, lead this before we fire you at the end of the season.
