Somehow this game probably made me as happy than winning our first ever. That was a more comfortable blowout against a team everyone was picking to win, but this year’s squad was equally special. And doubted. And like that 2013 season, I feel like we have to core to contend for a title again and again. But for now I just want to appreciate this one. And I appreciate SSJ and this community. I follow a lot of Seahawks content creators but this is the only chat where I hang out on game day.
Pretty fitting way to win it all, and well deserved. No drama, grind it out victory over a team they had the edge on, same as they have done all year.
Loved the play calling by McDonald, he put on an absolute clinic. Favorite play was probably Spoon's 1Q sack where he absolutely pantsed the RT with an inside move (after being squared up by a guy who weighs 120lbs more than him!)
NFC championship was in fact the real super bowl. Must suck for the Rams to know they would have won the chip if Spoon doesn't break up those two passes in the end zone.
The number of former Seahawks (especially from the previous SB years) who showed up at the game was indicative of the loyalty and comradery Pete built and Mike restored. It's been awhile since the Hawks sidelines and off-field enthusiasm was so full of fun and brotherhood. Darnold has been a big part of that, too. During the RW seasons, the announcers were constantly comparing every team to the Seahawks because he was a hot-dogger. Sam is so calm and deliberate that he really stands out as unique to me.
It was a clean game and a truly honorable win! JS said in an interview over last week that he doesn't just look for talent and athletics in players, he looks at character. Even the interviewer admitted that the Seahawks are a group of admirable young men.
I went to bed thinking that the Pats really were not ready for us (been thinking that for 2 weeks, yesterday we proved it.) By next year they might be.
If Bo Nix hadn’t broken his ankle it would have been Broncos yesterday. And then Pats next year. Seems familiar.
Watching the game in the Bay Area with mostly my Niner buddies and others without a vested interest the most common refrain was, “I just want a good game.” Or “this is boring.”
But the game went the way the two teams planned. Hawks were always going to lean on their D. The Pats were going to not lose the game and wait for Darnold to make a mistake. Look at the Pats prior playoff games. In all three, the Pats O did very little. They won because the Chargers, Texans and Broncos made mistakes that the Pats pounced on. The Pats opened up their game only after it was a little late. And they scored but also gave up a pick six. MM and his staff outcoached the newly minted Coach of the Year and his staff.
Can we also give some more respect (if that's possible) to coach Mike - for walking onto the field a champion and just standing there eyes wide, smiling and drinking it in. No coach has ever looked so cool, so thoughtful and so at one with themselves. That will become a defining image of his career and oh just so cool!
The lead paragraph in an ESPN story this morning......
"The best team in the NFL spent the 2025 season hiding in plain sight. Led by defense and special teams, armed with a quarterback nobody believed in and run by a 38-year-old, second-year coach whose personality remains opaque to almost everyone outside of his building, the Seattle Seahawks kept their heads down and kept working."
Exactly. Hiding in plain sight indeed.
That win was perfect. TEAM in every respect. Dickson was amazing. Myers was amazing. D-line was near perfect. Spoon, amazing. I said yesterday if K9 got 150 yards or more of all-purpose yards, the game would be won. He got 161 and won the MVP. Awesome. Barner was fantastic. O-line hung in there, but did leak pressures as NE blitzed their little hearts out. Sam did great to only get sacked once.
I'm so proud of this group, and so thankful our coach is Mike Macdonald. I'll spend the next six months enjoying this. We are lucky people.
I believe he is the highest paid at his position, and is worth every penny. The guy caused a turnover against the Rams (that resulted in a TD) and put NE in crappy field position all night long. Amazing punter.
Oh, I just want to mention…..
5 snaps total. 1 sack - taking down 2 players while executing it.
I like the look of Rylie Mills!
And Seahawks are not going anywhere…
A solid locker room.
A young coach going into his prime.
The best GM in the game.
Stud line on D.
Loaded back end of the D.
QB on team friendly contract.
Sixth most salary cap space.

Another data point for Spoon to have been the MVP.

Only one coach has won SB B2B with #1 scoring D. MM could be second one. Let’s go!
The first and only so far has been Shula.
Up to 128 comments now - how high can we go?
Congratulations everyone. Wow, we got another one.

With a top 5 schedule next season, instead of 32nd, Pats will be 10-7 and miss playoffs.

I am on cloud K9 as I am sure everybody else is.
I have a couple of post game observations.
I don't think I have seen Mike McDonald smile as much as he did after winning the game. I am super happy for the Hawks leader.
Ken Walker is such a super chill and cool guy. I am really happy he is part of this team.
This has been such a great season and I am glad I was able to experience it with this great community.

What was up with Vrabel's handshake? I don't even think he said 'congratulations' to Mike.
Sore loser.
That was my takeaway. Could have said 'great job, Mike' or 'congratulations Mike' or anything for heavens sake. Takes 5 seconds.

Truly, we watched it grow. Even wrote it all down. Seems K9 had a big run called back over a hold. i was getting fuzzy. Still am...
Is Dickson the highest paid punter? If so, is this an example of not following the herd and understanding value?
I believe he is the highest paid at his position, and is worth every penny. The guy caused a turnover against the Rams (that resulted in a TD) and put NE in crappy field position all night long. Amazing punter.
Both Dickson and Myers are the highest paid at their positions. After yesterday I call that money well-spent.
Happy and grateful. Some years it's fun to be a fan of a sports team, makes all the other years worth it!
I think somebody here asked about this once.

reminder that this was the #Patriots schedule:
Wk1: fired coach
Wk2: fired coach
Wk3: fired coach
Wk4: nfc south
Wk5: fired coach
Wk6: nfc south
Wk7: fired coach
Wk8: fired coach
Wk9: fired coach
Wk10: nfc south
Wk11: jets
Wk12: bengals
Wk13: fired HC
Wk15: fired HC
Wk16: fired HC
Wk17: jets
Wk18: fired HC
that's incredible
How about the Seahawk’s schedule?
2 coaches who were fired we played once, 1 coach who was fired we played twice, and we played the coach who resigned.
Correction, one coach resigned to avoid getting fired.

Zero turnovers in the post-season is an NFL first.
For a Super Bowl champion.
