I'm trying to figure out if this should be about ability or importance. Stoll, for example, is probably over ranked based on skill, but under ranked based on importance (or likelyhood to make the roster).
In this group especially I find it hard to guage. Cabeldue in either case is under rated. Whilst Wright is over rated in both cases.
But it's a perfect example of why Day3 in the draft matters, and doesn't matter. The gaps between your 91st and 71st player are slim to none. The odds are none of them make your roster, or anyone's roster, and certainly never make any impact on the field of play. But if even one of them can do, the savings to your finances are huge, and the boost to other fringe players is huge. Let's hope one of these 20odd players can be a feel good spark
Yesterday’s list only had one player I was familiar with, Velus Jones. And all I could have told you is that he’s fast. Today we’re getting into names on my radar at least. But I still don’t feel able to vote. I learned most everything that I know about these guys in the article. But that’s going to change in the future installments; we’ve got some talent depth on this team. So many guys holding up that Lombardi were names like this a year or two back. And I’ll always develop preseason crushes that (until recently) rarely panned out.
Like Jacardia and the Sheriff, Velus is a player I’ll root for in a Bobo type of spirit. I am a simple man, I like fun names.
Well….at least I recognize most of these guys. Or at least their names. I’m gonna call that my win for today (my standard for a win can be low some days).
I put Stoll higher than #71 because he will make the game day rosters and will play. Which means that the FO will expend 0 calories looking for a long snapper. That alone has enough value to put him somewhere in the mid to high 50s.
I voted for Stoll just because it's probably my last chance to vote for a long snapper for any reason. Just clicking that name and seeing the little bar graph appear with my check next to it was all the gratification I needed today.
Josh Jones said he would be ready to practice come training camp. If he is healthy and in shape, I can’t see Bobby Hart playing as well as Jones played at a very critical point at the end of last season. You know what he can do. I think Cabeldue will win out over Haynes.
He could be important if Jones isn't back as early as expected, or re-injured. He could be important if Cross is injured, and Cross missed 3 games last year. He could be important if Abe Lucas is injured. It's not just hinging on one thing, being Jones health, but getting through almost 2 more months healthy.
And even despite all that, Bobby Hart ranked very low all things considered.
Isn’t Richmond the second tackle up? Or Kite? I feel like we’re more likely to keep a player who has a year in this system than a below average veteran.
The biggest misconception is that there is a depth chart in June. Go compare notes about OTAs from 2023, 2024, 2025. It’s absurd to think what we thought was true based on those depth chart predictions. We all have to make assumptions. Including the coaches. We have no idea. But there’s no good evidence that anyone is RT2.
Last year After Cross and Lucas, Jones was the number one backup with Kight being the number 2. After that is was Richmond as of last year. I think Hart was signed because they wanted a veteran backup in camp as it was clear Jones was not going to be able to participate in OTAs or minicamp. I don’t see Hart as capable as Jones. In my opinion Jones played outstanding for a backup. Just think of Curhan, Forsythe, Jerrell from the year before. I don’t think they’ll keep two old vets on the roster, especially since they lose club control next year. If Jones is telling the truth about be ready to roll come training camp. I feel he will clearly be the preferred vet. As for young talent. Richmond, Logan Brown and Amari Kight will be playing for a spot. Richmond’s versatility (T/G/C) make him appealing. Logan Brown looks like a guy with lots of physical talent, and Kight is also a guy they were high on last year.

I abstained from both votes because I believe they are all ranked appropriately, with very little separating them from each other.

It sounds like about half of these guys are ranked too high. I was more optimistic about yesterday's group.
Greetings from the Emerald Isle!

I think Stoll should be #53 as he'll make the team, barring injury of course.

He said he will do well in Seattle.

You are, of course, correct.
