So, THIS is a “trap game.” Understood.

The Seattle Seahawks are being chased by a killer in the woods and they haven’t noticed the gaping hole in the ground hidden by weak sticks and loose leaves that was left by the stalker this morning just for this very moment.

That’s right, it’s a Week 14 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Most fans saw the Panthers as an easy win, whether that was six months ago, six weeks ago, or six minutes ago. Carolina had gone 5-11, 5-11, and 5-12 in their previous three seasons and there were no upgrades added to the roster in 2022. Including not Baker Mayfield.

The Panthers have been as flat on offense as expected (albeit not as disrespectful to football as Denver’s 14 total touchdowns despite a constant rotation at quarterback and trading Christian McCaffrey) and though the defense probably gets more credit than is warranted, Carolina has only allowed 38 points in their last three games.

I don’t see much to fear in the Panthers. Which is why you should fear the Panthers.

Despite no talent, Steve Wilks has gone 3-4 as the interim coach, with an overtime loss and probably another win if Carolina doesn’t start Mayfield against the Ravens. He could be 5-2!

And Seattle is only days separated from their most recent game being a loss at home to the Las Vegas Raiders.

There is a lot at stake this week against the Carolina Panthers. This is a rundown of what could happen if the Seahawks win and what to worry about with a loss; Seattle can’t let the killer catch up to them with the 49ers (and Chiefs) only a few steps in front of them.
