In the most non-creepy way possible, I love you. Love your writing style, love your honesty, and love you calling out the BS (most of all). It’s refreshing, I appreciate the daily insight and intelligent analysis on what’s happening with my favorite team. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Glad you got a day off, Joe! Bummer about the streak, but all good things come to an end. Hopefully the Hawks are taking a similar break and will come back refreshed next year. Letting the rookies take a year to learn the system and get the occasional series will set them up nicely for next year. Looking forward to reading what you learned during your time off and GO HAWKS!

I like your idea of taking the day off from writing, so I'm taking the day off too. Just a few meandering thoughts.

Heard Walker referred to as a smaller Carson by one of the players, yesterday. Yes, smaller, way faster, far more elusive. Carson's strength was hitting a hole hard. Walker can do that and so much more. The question, as with any running back, will be whether he can compete and stay healthy against guys as quick and fast as NFL defenders. In that clip, it looked like the Energizer Bunny was running through the defense on the far side of the field.

The clips we're seeing of QBs throwing with no pressure, no defenses to read, tell us nothing. We already knew Lock has a good arm. We know he's tended to have trouble making reads and smart choices at game speed. We'll see.

All of which is fine. I expect nothing. Would be awesome if Bryant wound up being as good as Sherman but that's a lot of expectation to load onto the shoulders of a rookie. Let's just hope Bryant can be his best possible self.

Hopefully the players are off today in the same sense that we're off. Spending leisurely time with the playbook, practice film, game film, and in the weight room (enjoying their day off).

"It could just be that one of the big men needed a day off. Don’t we all?"

No, KenJoe, no you don't. Just like Sisyphus you will continue writing your newsletter everday without fail. 'Cepting youl'll enjoy it more 'n more as the years roll on.

Sisyphus? I hope writing isn't, for Kenneth, like pushing a boulder up a mountain. Hopefully the words flow with ease from his fingers the way a hawk soars effortlessly on thermals.

Oh, no, " you will continue writing your newsletter everday without fail. 'Cepting youl'll enjoy it more 'n more as the years roll on."

My intent was that KenJoe can't help himself but continue to write Seaside Joe because he enjoys this community so much and the joy will grow through the years. Sisyphus can't stop but Doesn't enjoy what he is bound to do.

As easy as KWIII's smile. Walker wins best Seahawks smile award, by the way.

I did mention this but in listening to KWIII speak yesterday I could feel my confidence in him growing even more. He is a smart well spoken young man, who is eager to learn and please. As an aside I am quite sure one of the qualities Seattle looks for in the draft are players who communicate well. I have been very impressed for quite some time listening to our players talk. KWIII said in high-school he used to switch between playing receiver and tailback. Maybe that was one of the reasons he was an over looked 2 star recruit.

I agree with Joe taking today off ,and I also agree and want Drew Lock to be the starter. From the sounds of it he was not liked by his previous coach, and nobody can play well knowing coach is just looking for a reason to crap on you. I've been there and it's horrible trust me. What makes the most sense he is young and has an upside. Who knows if he will ever be good enough to be the guy, but we will never know unless he plays. All we need is 14 of 22 for 190 yards 1 TD threw the air and one running it. Lock is an athlete and moves well. Pete needs to love him up and build his confidence. Speaking of Pete get well soon coach !!!!!

I am hopeful for a full season of healthy Penny, but it would be a first. Seeing shades of CJ Procise at this point. That and feeling sure Carson was finished is why I felt like the KW3 pick was such a great one. I'm not a praying man, but I'm hoping to the point of near-praying that Walker avoids the injury bug as well as can be expected for the position he plays. I expect him to have more total yards, rushing yards, and TDs than Penny.

I don't remember CJ ever putting together a string of games like Penny did at the end of the season though. It is a tough position to play--having two elusive backs that can take it to the house on any given play is huge for Seattle. Maybe between KW ad Penny they can BOTH stay healthy.

Oh, CJ never had a string of anything except injuries. His game against the Patriots was the stuff of legend but he could never stay in one piece.
