I was impressed with all of the same players as everyone else, Previous posts predicted and hoped that MVS would lose his position as WR3 to Horton, and that has happened. We saw Zabel help create running lanes. We saw Outz set up the outsize zone for Holani, who exceeded expectations. We saw Morris and Bohanna and Pili demonstrate their ability to play behind our stars. We saw Lock run the offense for points and a definite lead.

My only negative comment concerns Damien Marinez, who did not distinguish himself, and lacked anything close to beastmode. However Jacardia Wright looked good, and I noticed Tyreke Smith pressuring the QB and pushing the tackle into the QB with a strong bullrush. Our #2 offense (with #1 OL) beat their #1 defense, but I'm not sure they are a decent team. So Kansas City will be a better test next week.

Horton hears a "WHOOO!"...from the 12's, and a Holani in one...or more highlight clips! I'm really like'n some of the rookie potential we've scored. *Arroyo! A big fast blocking tight end with hands that make a baby's butt feel like a wood rasp...*Ouzt! A Fullbackzilla that blocks the sh*t outa you one play, then snags a pass in the flat like a ballerina behind you on the next play! I'd need to see more film but *Beldue seemed to do well at Guard. He' strong, has pretty quick feet, and he's really strong. A strong backup and potential future starter. (* Any names more complex than " Bob" may be misspelled...sorry). I'm a bit nervous about depth at LB but it's (really) early yet. Love our talent pool and the Kubiak sampler!

The ball position and the glitch in the technology. Let’s keep AI and technology out of the game all together. Let’s keep the game person to person, man to man. Sure, we are all human and we make mistakes, but the Refs really do a damn good job !

Loved the game. My only real concern was Milroe running toward a freebie first down on 4th and 2 and instead passing downfield incomplete. Keeping the drive alive is way more important than being a hero.

Yes indeed! Looked like he could have made that first down and more.

I have a good still shot of Pete’s expression after the missed FG that I wish I could share here - it’s priceless.

I loved the look on his face after the field goal was blocked. He was so sure they were going to win the game and then all the air was let out of his victory balloon. Sweet!!!

Nice to see FB return to the hawks, like to see more play action and TE sets. Overall the energy was great both offense and defense. Players seamed to have more direction than last year, for the first half. Second half not so much. Drew looked good , but didn’t look confident his body language needs to be more relaxed. Can’t wait to see how Sam responds this season. I believe and hope he will continue to improve his performances.

AWOOOOOOUZTS! The run game looked good and I'm hyped to have a FB back on the roster and clobbering people on the field. OL looked mostly good, Cabeldue stood out to me a few times in the second half.

Defensively the middle of the field was a problem in coverage, but getting a 3 and out against the Raiders starters was an encouraging sign.

Pretty sure Dicko hit a punt that went >70 yards.

Early returns suggest the Seahawks had a very good 2025 draft. 2024 looks like a dip in terms of overall starter talent but 25 appearing more like 22 and 23.

6th and 7th rounders this year prob aren’t going to make it, yet, but that’s bc so many from 22 23 and first 5 rnds of 25 will.

Will be interesting to see how the film shakes out the perf of Haynes, Sundell, and Laumea. Seemed to me Haynes looked the best of the 3 on tv. Kight getting in the game before Jerrell (and Richman and everyone else) was 👀.

After a few more watches...Mike Morris also looked good, more twitch - maybe he got a little leaner? T Smith 59 had a few nice plays and looked more twitched as well. I hate to be a nit pick but I saw Zabel off balance and kind of unable to control his opponent a few times. There was also a play where aLB shot inside Zabel and was apart of a tackle. Even though he was not in perfect position no real damage was done. Horton has some fluid movement, he accelerates off the line and has this way of weaving through traffic that caught my eye. There will be growing pains but the line already looks more confident even with the limited crew out there last night.

I think the Robot ball placement won't last long..a few more glitches and it's bye bye. Don't give up on Martinez too soon

.looked ill. When he's right he's a beast!

It was nice to see Pete get his dues from the 12s.

Looks like Horton is a steal. He'll be WR3 and Holani will be RB3. Ouzt looked great at FB making some great blocks. Reminds me of the under appreciated Mac Stong. Unfortunately, Milroe has a long way to go as an NFL passer and he will only be used as a gadget QB for this season.( Wild Cat etc.)

The D looked good but the IOL is still a work in progress. I'm still looking for additions at IOL and LB.

Hard to evaluate 1st pre-season game, especially against a team that was 4 and 14 last year. Pete has some major renovations to do.

Unrelated to the game: I get emails from SJ. When I try to open them in the app I get directed to the web with a request to download the Substack app, which I already have. The link used to take me to the app, this other result is recent. Anyone else having this issue?

I can still read you in email or in the app, I just don’t get a smooth transition from email to app. I know from some others that I follow that Substack is making some “improvements.” I assume this is related to those.

Not the end of the world.

Certainly nothing to make me miss the best Seahawks coverage ever!!

Good catch on the non-injuries. Kubiak will be especially attuned to the holes left when he doesn't have a viable Bench. Feels like MM's entire preseason will be defining who can step up in multiple ways. So far it looks like we are well insured.

This was the most satisfying tie I ever experienced. I always want us to win but for a preseason game that doesn't count, it was a nice outcome since it involved our former good ole coach Carroll. As a fan of both Carroll and our present team, it was the perfect outcome. It looked like we were going to win, but sure enough Carroll made it a game, which I'm glad for. More than anything there was really good situational football for both offense and defense that gave our guys plenty of opportunities to work on things. That's what it's really about for the preseason. The outcome and score are no big deal even though it's nice to win and have the feather in the cap. I'm happy that nobody lost. It's like two good friends playing a game and ending even steven. On the other hand, the Mariners are in the thick of it and their 11th inning win was super sweet. With the Mariners sweeping the White Sox earlier, it was a pretty perfect Seattle sports day for me.

Yep. It is good that Pete showed his guys what it is to keep it close and explode in the 4th quarter. They'll be needing it.

Running scheme has improved, overall the team as a whole needs to flow better. Their moves need to be smoother and seamless more efficient. This will take time as so many are new to the system and each other.

And another thing...Drew's interception should have been reviewed and overturned because the ball obviously hits the ground when you go back and look at it.
