I think Ken mentioned this in another article about Seattle's lack of contracts for returning LB's next year. Wagner is one year, Bush, Brooks contract is up this year and Rhatigan is year to year. Seattle appears too have found some potential to build on next year with Thomas, O'Connell and Rhatigan back on the PS squad. I wouldn't be surprised is Seattle tried to get one more year out of Wags and work out a reasonable contract with Brooks. I would also expect Seattle to invest some draft capital next year in the same position.
So who will the Rams trade next. They are tearing it down to the studs due to their all in SB year and lost draft capital going on 3 years. I think Stafford gets hurt again and Colt McCoy will find a new home. Kupp might be just the guy to garner a draft pick which may be what LA is looking for especially if they like Arizona tank this year. I think this will be Aaron Donald's last year. No insider scoop just a gut feeling. Stafford may well be in his last dance as well. By next year the Rams should be able to shed some serious cap weight and have some draft capital back.
I wanted Seattle to draft Kupp in the worst way with Baldwin finishing up his tender. He was there for the taking. Alas, now we have JSN.
Don't sleep on the corner Kelly Seattle picked up. I think he was on their draft board and Harbaugh stepped in it on this one. Apparently he thought PC/JS wouldn't notice a great CB prosepct on the waiver wire. Go figure.
Canales might of hit the "perfect storm" in Tampa. If things don't work out I wouldn't be surprised to see him on Seattle's staff again.
Ken, you mean Pete is not coming to dinner at your house next week for another hour podcast with his special guest Blitz!
One thing is for sure. The guys from the 2013 era sense something special is going on in Seattle again and they seem to want to be around it.
The Rams next week is really going to be the preseason/season warm up for the Seattle's starters. They're going to need it for the road trip to Detroit in week 2, which I think could be an early pivotal game for both franchises.
The Peter Principle is real. I hope that's not the case with Canales, but it definitely was with KNJ. The guy who coached KJ Wright, Bobby Wagner, Malcom Smith, and Bruce Irvin. Who made Khalil Mack even better. Probably the most competent LB coach of his generation. He was promoted to Defensive Coordinator and we know the rest.
This is partly why I had to trade away Kupp in Fantasy (as well as just not wanting any Rams/49ers/Cardinals players ever). Rams are definitely in the midst of paying for the Superbowl win - however anyone, Rams fan or not, i've spoken to agrees it was a price worth paying. Age old question, how much is it worth winning it all, because we can't all be the Patriots/Chiefs/80s-90s49ers&Cowboys/Steelers/Packers and we all really really don't want to be the Bills/Vikings.
I'm not going to get too carried away ahead of Wk 1. Yes it should be a relatively easy win, but Divisional games never are quite that straight forwards. Cam Akers could easily top 150yds and Matt Stafford is still a clutch QB. I don't expect any complacency from Pete or the team, but if ever there was a banana peel before the Bye it is this opening game.
He looks better than O'Connell did, to me, too. Maybe even Bush? He seems more physical and plays bigger than Bush. We may have just got us a guy, y'all.
I'm back from fishing. I cannot wait for the season to start. I have unreasonable expectations of this season, which means, to quote Pete Carroll, I'm all fired up. I'm stoked. I'm so fired up I'm crispy.
I missed all you guys and thought about this stuff every opportunity. Go Hawks.
I think it is great that Pete is doing interviews with his former players. This is a guy who makes millions of dollars a year and does not have any stake in their success but he is still taking time out his day because they were his players and he stills wants to see them succeed. What Pete is building is not just a team but a program. Programs are at their heart a family and family’s help each other.
I did not take it as a criticism. I was impressed that he was doing them with former players. I would not have known that if I did not read Seaside Joe.
Do y'all think Kupp not playing factors in to Spoon being unlikely to play? Pete just said Spoon is unlikely to play. Aslo, Prez is ruled out.

I also see some risk in our DL looking good against a shoddy LA OL, then becoming overconfident. But, 1st games, 1st.
Drake Thomas is the Real Deal Steal.
Raiders staff 'n fans must be crying in their beer now. Shouldn'a oughta taken that risk.
LA Rams are gonna take quite a few years to be relevant again. Thanks, KenJoe.
I was just now able to watch the video cut up and yeah, he looks like he is worth the spot and quicker than Rhattigan/Jones for sure.

Apparently, others saw what I saw in Bush.... just conjecture so far, though:

He can do as many interviews as he wants to do, that wasn't the take I was intending to convey.

Yeah, ALL of this stuff i'd not have known if not for Seaside Joe.
I see, I thanks for clarifying, I misread the first time.
Ok then, I will say it: The Seahawks will Defeat LA in the first game of the season! 1-0 baby!
