As soon as I turned the corner and decided I cared about winning games this year, the Hawks start loosing. After the last month I'm beginning to return to my early season apathy. Is it possible that my emotional attachment to the season impacts the outcome of games? I'm giving you one more week Seahawks. Win!!! Or I give up on you for the year.

This week is special. Not only do I have a second favorite team (Baltimore) but a third fav too, and that would be the Chicago Bears. Houston can have their #1 pick, they've earned it, but I don't want the Bears picking a defensive player ahead of the 'Hawks.

This will be a 'get right' opportunity for the Seahawks and I am sure the coaching staff will have the team up for it.

After the 444 rushing yards our defense gave up in the last two games I’m just happy nobody got hurt. Keep your heads down and stay the hell out of the way boys, they’re coming right through the A gap!

The Seahawks defense made the Bucs look like a top rushing team. They made Josh Jacobs look like a hybrid of peak Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen. I’m honestly not surprised if they struggle here.

I know that "on any given day" and all that, but really? The Rams are so depleted, it's hard to imagine them winning a game the rest of the way. Even against Denver. As bad as the Broncos have been, they have a real defense and Russ is good for maybe a touchdown. Perhaps two against this hapless version of the Rams. Hope I'm wrong. Really want that #2 pick. But unless some of their best players return from injury, it's hard to imagine how they beat anyone.

I’m glad you’ve been watching them a lot In LA for me to ask you this question.

What happened to Cam Akers? I last saw him tearing up the Hawks defense and teaming up with a third string QB to knock off Wilson at home. Is the downfall all due to Achilles injury? It seems like there are more personal reasons than just that.

Grab the life preserves the water is cold. I'm not jumping ship just yet but after watching Wyman's Football 101 on the running defense fail last week which was for many of the same reasons in Germany, I think this can be fixed. Tampa exposed some new wrinkles in the Seattle running defense and the Raiders jumped on it. So who are these Raiders. They are much the same as Tampa. You just don't know whose going to show up. (Life is like a box of chocolates) The 27 point shutout loss to NO or the one point loss to KC in KC ( or 2 point loss to Titans in Tenn). Newsflash. Josh Jacobs is a very good back playing in a new offense. So the Raiders were not the complete "JR Varsity" many had thought. They showed up last Sunday just as Tampa did a few weeks back.

Seattle's defensive dumpster fire continues. Seattle had better draft a safety and a few D lineman next year. In fact other than Center, QB (Grayson, Penix)) and RB, Seattle could devote the draft to some key pieces on defense. Geno still gets a new contract. FA money should be allocated to the D as well (quality not quality). Seattle's defensive line is constanly pushed around. Seattle's safety play is only satifactory with Neal in. Seattle picked up another Raider cast off (Packers too) this week, Abram at safety. Josh Jones should be on timeout and Blout given his snaps until Abram is up to speed a little at least. You've got to love Hurt's comment on him Abram, “Haven’t got a chance to really watch him too in depth. Seen some stuff obviously. But I know we put the claim in and we got him so I’ll learn a lot more over the next 24 hours," Welcome to the "Chinese Firedrill" The interior offensive line really has been suppar the last two games (and many other times). I give Abe a pass on getting manhandled on Sunday by an Elite D end. He has not played that bad all year. My guess is he was sick but still tried to play. Seattle should have started Curhan at RT.

I love Walker, but he needs to make the decision to hit it sometimes and not delay, defenses are catching on to that. Seattle needs to run more to the B gap or use him in the short passing game more to offset the interior O line failures. Geno needs to be more careful in the redzone with the ball. I don't mean to sound like a "Danny Downer", but I did not have a good feeling about the last two games going in. I couldn't put my finger on it, but something just didn't feel right. So as Bill B would say, "On to LA" In other words no more crying over spilled milk.

Question: Did you throw the glass out, or is it still half full? Let's say it just a little over a 3rd. Seattle in many ways got embarrassed the last two weeks with anything tied to the running game on either side of the ball. According to Wyman the defensive errors can be coached up and hopefully will be this week. Pete do yourself a favor. Don't call Josh!!!!! Look at his depth in a running formation the Raiders were showing and the ensuing game winning run. LB's and safety's (Neal out) play your gaps, don't let QB motion confuse you and attack the blocker at the point of running attack or in the shallow secondary.

What about LA. They have always had the Magic Mojo against Seattle, even with Jeff Fisher and the guest QB of the week. I watched the KC game last week and the D still did a pretty good job. Don't take Donald's absence as a pass this week, or a backup QB either. Seattle really needs a convincing victory this week to move the needle for the next game against the Panther's. You can't overlook any game in the NFL, and sure can't play games trying not to lose. The offense, with K9 getting some pass reps and Dallas getting some snaps needs to step up out of the gate. The Rookies need the vets to show them how to keep your pace for 17 games. Geno, you're the Man! I think he is the answer to the Rams curse. A quick note on Dallas. I think Seattle could use him more earlier in the game as a battering ram to soften defenses and be more selective with Walker and his reps. I just think more of a rotation on early downs or using two backs might add a different look to Seattle's run game. Homer is still the best 3rd down option. Healthy backs going into this time of the year is so important. Dallas is a physical runner and is still a receiving threat. Let's look at Brown for some return activity.

With Seattle's interior O-Line weaknesses they need to change up the look and scheme a bit. When defenses aren't guessing and your offensive line isn't executing, the outcome is the last two weeks and the earlier 49er game.

I know a lot of folks aren't big D Young fans but I would like to see the kid get some reps at the 4 spot. Hart has had his reps for 3 years. I still think this kid is a diamond in the rough. ST has taught him something about the speed of the pro game and contact preparedness.

I think the next two weeks will really be a momentum builder for the 49ers, KC and the Jets. After this week (and KC) all of Seattle's remaining schedule is at home.

The playoff run starts this Sunday. Seattle can still be part of the party.

I will never pencil in a win for us against the Rams after they've smoked us year in and out. Even with Jeff Fisher at the helm they've had our number, so we'll see...

Some of us have spent years wondering how the Rams can continue to pilfer talent from other teams handing out high dollar contracts and never getting much out of the draft (except Kupp). To others, the Rams FO were a bunch of geniouses who were eventually going to build a dynasty. Well the bill finally has come due and they can't be sure anyone other than Kupp will even be around next year. Ramsey has to be a cap casualty and retirement is legit for Donald and Stafford. They will also probably need to move on from Bobby. But without any picks at the top of the draft, They are pretty well screwed for a couple years until they deal with their cap issues and get back to picking talent instead of buying it. I now feel vindicated for defending our FO for not spending so much in FA or sending an entire generations worth of draft capital to get a superstar in trade. I also pretty well hammered PCJS the one time they made that mistake and even they know it was bad process brought on by desperation and trying to make their golden boy happy in the midst of a pandemic.
