A Jobe deal well done
The Seattle Seahawks are re-signing cornerback Josh Jobe to a three-year, $24 million contract according to multiple reports.

Jobe was the Seahawks free agent I listed atop my probable returning players based on his combination of talent and affordability, plus the likely departures of secondary players like Riq Woolen and Coby Bryant.
The Chicago Bears signed Bryant to a three-year, $40 million contract, a number much too high for a Seattle defense coached by Mike Macdonald.
With Jobe back on the team for just $8 million per season, the Seahawks can turn their attention to filling other holes in free agency like running back and safety, although neither position is probable to take a front seat. If Seattle wanted to make a splash there, they could have simply retained Kenneth Walker (story of signing with Chiefs here) and Bryant.
All things equal, Seattle is looking at roughly 5th round compensatory picks in 2027 for the losses of Bryant and Walker. That is only if they don’t sign outside qualifying free agents of equal value and it seems unlikely that John Schneider will spend $13-$15 per year on any such players.
Jobe is back. The rest of Seattle’s free agents might not be.

Thoughts on today: bummed to lose K9, but encouraged by the online outrage over letting Bryant and Kenny walk and not making big splashes- these online voices are rarely in touch with what moves actually help build a Super Bowl contender.
