"they've only forced 6 turnovers on 254 defensive snaps". That's an improvement over last season with forcing 4 turnovers on 281 defensive snaps. Too bad they forgot how to tackle and cover, so the defense is much worse.

I feel everybody in New Orleans will be looking at this as their get well game. No doubt Cajun radio has pointed out Seattle's defensive record. I think this will help the Hawks; if as Kenneth says we can play from in front up to 7 points down in my opinion. As long as the game is close the Saints will get edgy. The Saints have everything to lose and Seattle has no fan pressure. Add in the Saints are coming back from London, which is much harder than going. I have made the trip a number of times and coming home, the jet lag sets in much more than going.

On the we better do this list is, first and foremost zero or very few missed tackles. Kamara is still very capable. This is meant for everybody on defense, but we need a 10 tackle game from Jordan Brooks and a solid six from Cody Barton with no misses. No doubt Barton didn't realize how strong and balanced Hockinson is, but it you are going to push him out of bounds, do so while grabbing his jersey. I have never thought of Barton as being a pour tackler, I think he is gassed, as he is playing far more than he ever has. He will be better but dam we need someone to spell him, like Ben Bur who is injured, or our army linebacker who is injured and can't remember his name.

On the offensive side of the ball, keep switching it up Shane. Also keep using our tightends, how many people still think Will Dizzly is over paid. We don't get to focus on how good a blocker he is, but he Parkinson and Fant have helped out our rookie tackles.

Joe you had a snap count by position, one tightend only played 30% of the snaps, was that Fant or Parkinson ?

This is another one of the games the Seahawks *could* win depending on whether the offense can continue its pace the the D can improve even a little from its last performance. When thinking about the Seahawks' D, the two turnovers (forced fumble and INT to the house) were actually the difference in the game vs the Lions. Can they improve the tackling? It really could not be much worse. All in all, I like the Seahawks' chances vs the Saints. With a win they WILL be in first place! But who will also be 3-2 when the dust settles?

The Niners D made the Rams look very slow and tired last night, and makes the Seahawks vs Niners result more palatable and also makes the upcoming matchups with LA seem less daunting as well.

Thanks for John Rhattigan, total brain freeze, he was a and could still be a pros pro.

As far as tackling goes half of my 23 years of rugby was played at fullback. It's like playing safety where you find yourself in the open field one on one. No one is perfect in that scenario, however you can mitigate the damage. Cede ground if needed and make sure somehow you get both arms around the runner. Pete spoke of knowing when to go for the big hit. The only time one can do that is when they have support around them. It's much easier tackling near the line of scrimmage because the runner is not going full speed, on the downside there are many blockers. Trying to keep a player from getting a first down can lead to missed tackles. No coach should give anyone shit if they make a solid effort and bring the guy down.and he couldn't do it in two yards. Most players are going to fall forward more than half that distance. As I have mentioned tackling is 85 % mental and 15% technique. The legion of Boom became so, as even their skilled defenders tackled well. Sherman, Chancellor and Earl Thomas played on punt coverage as they could tackle so well. One caveat to the 85% rule, if your dead dog tired you will not have the energy needed.

9 out of 32 teams have a record that is better than the SeaHawks

Dalton may be the best option for the Saints across the whole season, but I’d rather face him than Winston on any given Sunday. Winston may not be anyone’s idea of The Answer at QB, but he has shown that he can dominate a game, and the Seahawk defense begs to be dominated. Bring on the Red Rifle.

Bold predictions are actually lofty expectations and should be treated as such when proclaiming them. Glad you are aware that it is a fools folly to announce such expectations without realizing it has just as much chance of coming true as completely blowing up in your face. You really shouldn't mind being wrong in this case though because I prefer a win this week to make up for the loss to Atlanta. 3-2 was what I was hoping for (although realisticly 2-3 was my thought if the Bronco's hadn't shit the bed against us) when we started the season.

I'm amazed at how the Detroit win has affected everyone. I guess I have to be the one to point out the "turd" in the pool....IT WAS DETROIT! They put over 40 points on us! New Orleans could do the same. What I don't think they'll do is give up over 40 points to the Seahawks. Back to earth everyone.

Why draft Ryan Ramczyk when you can trade down—passing on him, T.J. Watt, and Tre’davious White—and draft Malik McDowell?
