Yeah we’ve already been down the road of a piece of garbage scum Californian. We don’t need another round of trash coming up north. I miss the Nordstroms. Miss Paul even more.

The loyalty to Boston sports doesn’t bother me. Boston is the ninth biggest media market. Seattle is 13th. They’re both northern seafaring cities. The guy could easily adopt an additional town. He would find it unimaginable that a team would leave Boston, and would likely have the same feeling for Seattle - especially after the Sonics debacle.

I hate that the ownership rules are so billionaire-only. Broad, local ownership rocks.

Ken Behring died in 2019, so we have one less guy to worry about.

Oh how I wish I was a multi-billionaire!

Heck, I kinda took a post SB breather. Still pouting over K9 non-sign.

Didn't know the post Paul Allen sale was in progress. Guess it had to happen.

It's too bad an opportunity to model a public Hawk ownership a la Green Bay was not conceived.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bay_Packers,_Inc.

Wiki says, from 1980's, NFL now requires 1 shareholder to own min. 30% but where there's a will, there's a way - perhaps private/public partnership.

Oh well, I think Howard Schultz left town - one lousy owner down. Puhleez no crypto-dudes!

Hope Hawks are bought by someone w/Allen-level "I don't care" money, who won't pull a Schultz or Mariner-esque 'public financing-or-else' replacement of "ancient" 24 y.o. stadium.

I'm already 99% checked out on post-NIL college. I've seen enough "favorite pro teams" boogie for bucks & don't like Mariner A-ball Aquasox shaking down Everett for new stadium when Everett couldn't cough up $5-mil for WSU college campus.

But hope springs eternal - perhaps the "softness" of offers is due to a "remain in Seattle" clause?

We'll be the last to know. Remain in darkness, mushrooms! ;-)

THAT would be nice ~ one owner puts up the 30% 'n the Seahawks Fans buy the balance.

I suspect we shall see a sizeable percentage of ownership relegated to retired Players and Alumni. Considering 1,000 of them capable of investing a million bucks would cover the only first billion of a $9 Billion selling price, would 1/9th ownership be attractive enough? Probably not. So do the math, what would they be advised? Probably at least a third, 3/9ths. Who would get controlling share, 51%? I continue to note the "family-feel" to what is being built here. I see a logic at work. A marriage of emotions and logic. A place to belong. As the designed caps work to dissolve our winning ways, could our young guys get guaranteed stock as an enhancement? How many rules would that violate? Dunno. I'm a Builder, not an investment banker... And will Bobby Wagner return for 1 day to "retire" here? Why? Does Sherm honestly love us, or is there more to his visits on Day 1 of OTA's?

There’s a limit to 25ish partners. So…

I see a lot of doom and gloom "sky is falling" attitudes on Twitter/X and Hawkblogger's comment sections about every potential new owner. Like most of us, I wish Paul Allen could have owned the Seahawks forever. But even billionaires are mortal and all the money in the world can't beat cancer. At this point, I simply want an owner who runs things like him. Invest where needed, and let the people who run the organization do their jobs. I'm too old to get worked up about their rise to wealth or opinions they have that I don't share. Anyone *able* to purchase the team will be easy to scrutinize.

I adopted a "love the art, not the artist" approach to entertainment decades ago and it's served me well. I will recommend a band or movie that I love -made by people who I could scarcely disagree with more. They have a vastly different life experience than I have, and life would be awfully boring to limit my entertainment to creators and performers who align with my beliefs. Same with whatever owner/ownership group buys my favorite football team. Just please do right by the Seahawks. They don't need you to meddle. Everything is in place.

I’m hoping Allen’s will allows Jody some discretion beyond just “highest bidder”. The critical role he played when he effectively rescued the Seahawks, and the intelligent manner in which both he and Jody owned and managed the team, is hopefully reflected also in how it is bequeathed to its next owner

Yes. I hope there are certain caveats attached to the sale.

The main caveat in whatever contract comes down the road needs to be that the Seahawks "shall" remain in Seattle... signed in blood wiith their children, grandchildren and family dog held as collateral. As for the GM and the rest of the organization, an owner has the right to make changes, but if they're smart enough to be richer than God, then they 'should' be smart enough to know "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" right?

So what I think SSJ is trying to tell us about potential owners is, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." I would think, despite what SSJ said about making interest payments, that it would be an overwhelming conflict of interest having an owner who is also an owner of another team particularly in the same division! Imagine the information sharing! We fans cannot allow the NFL to approve that. That's totally unacceptable.

It is not allowed. I'm pretty sure I saw yesterday that he would have to sell his 40whiner shares to buy the World Champion Seahawks. (Good lord I love saying that phrase.)

I did read the Boston (ugh) people are mostly hands off, which is my only wish. Well and obviously not moving my team.

That's good news about that Vinod guy needing to sell his shares but I still wouldn't trust him. And I'm with you on the Whiners FTW LOL
