Seahawks sign Terrion Arnold
Next week’s episode of Hard Knocks figures to be a banger.
The Seattle Seahawks plan to sign cornerback Terrion Arnold, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Arnold, who is facing eight felony charges including armed robbery and kidnapping, does not figure to be on the team right away. He is at the very least facing the Commissioner’s Exempt List and an NFL suspension.
Although the main reason the Detroit Lions released Arnold was the charges, the franchise almost certainly would not have done it if he had been a better player.
The 24th overall pick in 2024, the 6’, 195 lbs Arnold would have been competing for a starting role this season had he stayed out of trouble. Arnold missed half of 2025 with a shoulder injury that required surgery.
With Seattle, Arnold figures to be a great reclamation project, should he be cleared of the most serious charges that he faces.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein said this of Arnold prior to the draft:
“Twitchy man-cover corner with outstanding athletic ability and the skill set to bring in ball production at the professional level. Arnold possesses average size but plays with a desired level of aggression and competitiveness in both phases of his job. He’s fast and agile to match up against a variety of receiver flavors on the outside or in the slot. Arnold could squeeze routes tighter from off coverages and limit the yards after catch with a slightly different approach. His closing burst allows him to meet throws at the catch point with a natural feel for playing angles and attacking the receiver’s hands. Arnold will make mistakes with positioning and lose focus at times, but the athletic traits and nose for the ball create quality upside for him to be positioned as a CB1 within a couple of years.”
He was compared to Marshon Lattimore.
With Mike Macdonald and Aden Durde’s coaching, Arnold could be a much better all-around outside cornerback than Riq Woolen and Josh Jobe, the latter of whom is also a former Alabama player.
But will he even play one snap with the Seahawks?
Arnold had an arraignment on Thursday morning over Zoom, with his next scheduled court appearance on October 5. This was a big step for Arnold, but his next step may not happen for months.
JS loved him coming out of that draft, I guess was thinking of taking him if Murph didn’t fall to us. Ironically he was considered a great character guy - hoping this is the wake up call and 2nd chance he needed!
