Love is a really good football player. I'm glad we are going to have him around longer. It's just crazy how much players are paid now a days, but good for him.
My guess is also that Coach M is seeing something he likes a lot in Love and thinking he can be one of those multiple position players and wants to keep him. Agree about JReed but big guys can last a little longer as long as they get rest, something Adams and Young etc didn’t give him last year.
When Love was first signed, he was described as somewhat of a position-less defensive back. And that seems to fit well with MM’s defensive scheme. Defenders need to be “more” than just one clearly defined position.
Our Hawks have yet to be considered Super Bowl contenders. Once that sets in, we will see very good players hoping to hitch their star to our wagon. I have zero doubt JS is already arguing for this.
Since you mentioned contract extensions and Jarran Reed (not getting one) together, I am curious about the longevity of top defensive linemen?. My memories of Jacob Green, Joe Nash, Jeff Bryant, Tez, and many of the league's greats are generally longer NFL careers. Is 33 where they can no longer stop the run or get to the Q.B.?
I'm thinking Schneider's super power is juggling these salary mazes to maximal efforts while still not sacrificing the future. My hope is the guys see and trust it. Stays patient.
I'm a bit surprised. Love somehow got to the Pro Bowl, but I'm still not sure how. I didn't like him in run support last year, but maybe the problems were in front of him......not sure. He had some good games mixed in there, and obviously Mike Mac likes how he thinks the game, so what do I know.
I was surprised he got to the pro bowl, too. My impression is that he was inconsistent but got better toward the end of the season. He may have also just been lucky to get opportunities for some big plays in the last few games. As long as we've seen his floor and not his ceiling, then this is a reasonable deal.
The new group must also believe in him or this wouldn't have happened. So far he has looked and played as the real deal, so let's just hope and that nothing bad comes along and messes with him or his play and abilities.

Love LOVE. MM must love what he is seeing from him as well.

Leslie Frazier is very high on Love! Listening to LF, I got the idea that they have specific plans for Love and think he will become a star.
He's MMs guy now, and I'm loving it.

I wonder if they also opened up some room to be sign Connor Williams.
Love is good and seems like a good guy. Solid work
My guy Brady throwing some cold water on the Connor Williams connection idea … 😔

I mean, I really don't know. But I'm curious.
I like this deal .. Love seems worth the $$$

Yes extend Reed but most importantly sign Conner as our offensive line is the only possible weak link!
