I would love Seaside Chats again!, hearing you on Seahawks Forever not long ago reminded me how I enjoyed your show. I listen to many pods, and there's always room for another IMO, yes please!
This year we have no Player besides maybe Dickson really standing out. If Boye would be able to add some more Sacks maybe but he has big time positional competition.
Jordyn Brooks may have his statistically best season yet, maybe he has a dark horse chance.
My ten cents: there exist lots of engaging video and audio podcasts, it's a crowded space. Harder in my opinion to find prolific and engaging Seahawks writing. So that's what I value most from this esteemed publication.
Just because I can’t sleep, I decided to look up all the Seahawks who left for other teams after last season. It’s a who’s who of guys on IR and healthy scratches. So in spite of our lack of star players, we seemed to make no wrong calls on who to let go. Rashad Penny was my only surprise.
It did not, but I eventually slept some and I woke up and read Field Gulls this morning and in "pre snap reads" there was a Seattle Times article about what I'd just looked up last night. That kinda blew my mind. And could have saved me a lot of time, but I was trying to kill time anyway, I suppose.
Outside of Dickson, I don’t know that anyone on this team is worthy of a Pro Bowl nod. I’m on Twitter less often than I used to be, but I have seen almost no retweets of Seahawk Pro Bowl stuff this season. It’s like the fans have lost enthusiasm.
As someone who listens to podcasts more than any other media, I’d love for you to do one. But I understand that writing is your forte and goal so understand if it’s not your priority.
I love the fun non-football parts of the Pro Bowl. NFC vs AFC skills thing is always super fun, and I continue to campaign for more ridiculous non-football fun aspects (still want the O-Line 40 and the WR LoS Battle - WR's pushing the tackle sledge against each other). Even the Flag Football last year I quite enjoyed, it was silly and feels like a celebration of players.
My major complaint these days (beyond it not being quite crazy enough) is the way it's just a popularity contest that pretends it's a serious evaluation of talent. There's an assumption that being a Pro Bowler legit means you're the best, when you can be a Pro Bowler because you're a fun personality & the actual best players were in the Superbowl so you got called up as a reserve. I'd like to see the NFL implement a system a bit close to the MLB, where you still vote but then the NFL picks the final spots to ensure every team gets representation, or to fix obvious mistakes (like Dickson).
Podcast, not that bothered. I don't listen to any nfl podcasts because I find podcasters are so damn annoying and self-obsessed. But I do occasionaly listen when Rob (SDB) is on somewhere as a guest because he's far less egotistic, and I assume your podcasting would be more like you writing, and i'll listen to a proper journalist.
Yes. I'm in that camp too. I like to read, and I'm saddened that much of the content that the Internet has always been rich with has been moved to be exclusively podcasts and videos.
At least AI is improving in auto transcripts, so it may not matter soon.
I walk to work every day and so end up listening to many of your articles anyway, just with a generic voice. If you did a podcast in lieu of a regular Joe post or two, it would be an improvement, but the auto reader does an ok job. It isn't something I would demand, but I won't turn down another nice perk.

But...did that put you to sleep? You might could bottle that and make a fortune! Or start a six-step program!

Yes! Your humor really comes through via audio.
I’m a reader not a listener (hearing problems), so my answer is obviously no.

I’m with you. I’d much prefer to read. I can ponder, and go back over points when I read.

As one of the 3 Goofballs subscribers, I know the answer is no, but I'd love to have an Goofballs reunion. Maybe an occasional podcast cameo?
Great point.
Why isn’t Dickson leading the pack??
He is the rock in our stormy sea(hawks) this season.
If you end up doing the podcast (I am a NO vote) can you release a transcript also? I love READING your takes, articles, insights.
I believe that Substack will have an automatic transcript made, so you're in luck
