Why Seahawks GM John Schneider could finally call his old team for trade offers: Seaside Joe 1859

Today’s Seaside Joe article is episode 1859, the 1,859th day in a row of sending out a Seahawks newsletter, and as the episode numbers get higher the more they start to look like years to me. So recently I’ve started to wonder to myself, “What happened that year?” and today’s is an interesting connection for the Seattle Seahawks: On January 28, 1859, the city of Olympia became incorporated in the Territory of Washington, an historic day for the capital of a future state.

Therefore 1859 is the day that Seattle sort of got its capital and 1859 is also the episode title in which Seaside Joe brings up that Seattle needs even more capital.
