Once again, great analysis. I learn a lot from reading your posts. The draft is such a dynamic event. That's why I tend to skip over mock drafts. Except for the first handful of picks, no one has a clue how things will play out in any year. This time around, no one knows how even the top of the board goes down.

If Gardner or Thibodaux are still available stay at 9. In this draft 2 high 2nd round pics are more valuable than 1 late 1st rounder. Since most drafts are a crap shoot ( especially this one ) quantity may be better than questionable quality.

The mocks are made up for our entertainment and I am entertained! Agree that teams have their boards made up long in advance of the draft. Trading with the Saints and then edge/Davis...or maybe Davis as the edge?!

I will be mildly shocked if some team doesn't reach with their pick and push a worthy LT down to nine, and if not a tackle, then an Edge, and if not an Edge or LT, then a CB, and if Sauce is gone, and Evans is gone, and Icky is gone, then trade down and then trade down again. I like a lot of players and I would need to reach for them in the 70's to 80's. I've become convinced we need to get Marcus Jones, Khalil Shakir, Leo Chenal as an OLB in a 3-4, Abraham Lucas and maybe throw in Walker III or Hall and another RB late, and maybe Jack Coan in the 7th. Plus whoever JS wants, too. So trading down, and down again is fine.

I'm going to argue the opposite and suggest the Seahawks trade up. Their biggest need is elite talent not a specific position. Carolina @ 6 desperately wants to trade down. If you can get Thibs, Sauce or for some insane stroke of luck Hutch/Ickey go leverage the relationship for a trade up. They have enough assets for a disgruntled QB next year. They lack difference makers except DK who is the only guy they are getting trade calls for.

Texas. Of the team you proposed, Texas is the most likely to finish with a poor record next season. I'd take 2022 #34(550pts), #68(250pts), and their 2023 first round pick(appx 600 pts) for 2022 #9(1350 pts). Odds are we'll need to take a QB next year so gathering ammo for 2023 is the smart play. If Lock is better than advertised we could still trade down in 2023 and accumulate a lot of talent that got pushed down by a top heavy QB class.
