The Seattle Seahawks made a trade on Sunday, sending center Nick Harris and a 2026 seventh round pick to the Browns in exchange for a 2026 sixth round pick. No matter how inconsequential that trade return turns out to be—a day three pick swap in two years is barely anything—the Seahawks essentially borrowed Harris from the Browns for training camp and turned that into like a .05% capital increase in 2026.
Okay, that’ll do, Nick!
I mentioned in the overreactions and moreoverreactions articles after the game that Nick Harris seemingly had no place left on the roster since the team signed Connor Williams last week. Harris played 12 snaps against the Chargers, with Olu Oluwatimi getting the majority of playing time in L.A..
The Seahawks now have an extra roster spot going into this week’s joint practices and preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. This clears up once and for all that Williams and Olu will be the centers, while there’s a little less clogging up the guard competitions.
Harris was thought to have an advantage because of his previous work with offensive line coach Scott Huff at the University of Washington. Bad news for Jack Westover then, as prior experience with Huskies coaches is perhaps not that valuable.

- Of course, the Seahawks should be using that extra roster spot on Connor Williams
Do the Hawks have any dead money with Harris?
