Minshew is perfect for Pete’s offense. Cheap, locals would love him, and what if he pans out? Could be the next Kurt Warner story. I’d love to see him in the locker room for or in interviews. Perfect. If we have to lose, might as well do it while having fun.

As I wrote yesterday my top 3 in no particular order.

Gardner Minshew, he is careful with the ball, he has plenty of swag, and you could get him for a 6th rounder

Colt McCoy if no other reason than he beat us twice in the last two years. The first win came with the G Men. The 2nd win was with the Cardinals last year, he looked very composed and put together a number of 12 play drives; was that as much to do with our defense possibly, but he did make a lot of good decisions. He would have done better than Kyler Murray in the Cards playoff game last year. Murray looked like a deer staring into the headlights of an on coming car, and hit the deck anytime someone got a finger on him.

Marcus Mariota he is a very likeable person both the 12s and his teammates would be behind him. He does suffer with inaccuracies at times, however he can throw deep which we know Pete likes to do. The big Hawaiin can be a physical runner when needs be.

I choose these 3 because they give us a chance to win games.

Kenneth I am confused in what you want the Seahawks to be next year. Pete is way to much of a competitor to go for a real tank job. The rebuild needs to start at the opening of free agency, and we should hear about our desired free agents signing before they go to market. What kind of record do you see for next season compared to what Pete and John see. Victoria Chris Ps Foles to me is a 0/5, and I forgot about Taylor Heinike sorry if that if that is spelled wrong. I would give Taylor a serviceable grade as an NFL QB. So I guess my list is now 4

Taysom Hill's contract is a little more complicated that what you wrote Ken. He's got escalators for playing QB in his contract, so unless he's terrible and/or throws less than 224 passes, that contract will get bigger. His 2023 salary of $9.9M becomes guaranteed in 6 days as well.

I’d take any of your top 5. None excite me, but they’re cheap and serviceable. I want the Hawks to focus on building a strong core then add a QB in a year or two. That said, someone has to hand the ball off this year and occasionally make a throw. All of your choices have done that when called on.

Foles, sorry Kenneth. Bad and definitely NOT exciting. Taylor, certainly viable and will play hard. The rest, yuk. Might as well get Kap to come try out. Mariota???

Curious why you didn't handicap Marcus Mariota?

Good framework - but I never saw Tyrod (nor Fitzmagic nor some newly discovered youngest McCown brother - thanks!)

I hope Lock or Eason schedules a Cali or Hawaii trip, in an attempt to lead!

Minshew for sure. I don't expect he can be an answer to anything more than "who replaced Russell Wilson with the 2022 Seahawks" in some future trivia book, but he's not *terrible* and beyond that he's entertaining. Bringing him back to Washington State can be a feel good story, and I think would sell to the fans far easier than someone like Jared Goff or Nick Foles. If you're going to have a rebuilding guy, or a bridge guy, taking someone that the fanbase won't immediately groan at feels like a good move, and I don't think there's much difference between any of them on the field at this point.

As long as he's cheap, better than Geno, has won an actual NFL game before, and isn't named D. Watson, I'm ok with almost anyone next season. We need solid starting pieces to build on.

My preference would be for Seattle to trade nothing for a QB this year. Not a day three pick; not even a 7th rounder. I don't care if the Seahawks suck next year. In fact, the more they suck the better. I'd love to get a high pick in round 1 for 2023.

I really don't give a rip who QBs the team next year. We've got three QBs on the roster; let them fight it out. Or get someone who's been cut and needs a chance to prove himself. It really doesn't matter. Just don't squander precious draft capital on a guy who might get us an extra win or three and take us out of the running for a top draft pick. There's no point. We're not going to the Superbowl. We're not even gonna make the playoffs. So accept it and go all in on tanking this year. I'll be pleased if we go 1-16. Not that I think we will. I'd guess we'll have maybe 4 wins, give or take. But the fewer the better.

First of all, DOPE tattoo! And that's coming from a Husky. Secondly, Minshew would be a fan favorite as long as he wasn't asked to do too much. Metcalf might get frustrated with the lack of deep balls with Minshew slinging it as well. A name left out is Tyrod Taylor. Seems like he could be a cheap upgrade to Lock. Would be interested in your thoughts!

Personally, I don't think any of the current NFL QBs who are or might be available this year, have that dynamic athletic talent to take the Seahawks all the way to the SB. It would be a waste of $$$ on a crap shoot. If the Seahawks are concerned about the competition to win the division and making the playoffs this year, I hope they draft QB Malik Willis. Malik reminds me so much of Russel Wilson's athletic youth, but taller. He has the ability to scramble-run to make something happen, and can throw the long arcing bomb. He is a diamond in the ruff

There's a rumour that jamious Winston is available from the Saints. if he could reduce his interceptions then.....
