I sometimes tweet in response to what's posted and, yes, it's all emotion. Twitter is pretty much designed to make it easy to speak first, think later. Someone tweets something incendiary or stupid. A bunch of people tweet back insults.
Actually, the best part are the insults. They can be super creative and funny. I enjoy those rare occasions when I post something that others copy. Like when Kari Lake kept posting nonsense after the election and I sent this:
I’ve never had Twitter. I’ve never seen the attraction. Joe’s comment on emotion was spot on. We are now living in a society that lives on their emotions rather than intelligence - virtue signalling rather than considering truth and logic. I’ll stick with the intelligent Seaside Joe and be blessed with his logic that aims at the truth. Love your work Joe. I’m glad you saw the light.
One of the very few reasons I am on Twitter and a few other social sites is to share articles and newsletters by writers I like who provide accurate and truthful information. Like Seaside Joe. I'm a Regular Joe, but for most others, I am not a paid subscriber. I feel like I help them by spreading their work. Doesn't mean anyone reads it, but I feel it's worth a shot. Go Hawks!
I have never tweeted or followed anyone on twitter. I do not respond to emails sent to a group of people. I do respond to an email sent from one person to me. I have found these to be good rules.
There are people who get paid to tweet. They are known as paid BOTS tasked with spreading the lie/s they were hired to spread. The ads are far worse on FB but all are predatory. My current battle with State Farm was the most eye-opening. A person complained about their experience with that miserable company, so I replied with instructions on how to make a complaint that matters. The State Farm account hid every single comment I posted!! So if corrupt companies can manipulate their feeds like that it is not trustworthy at all. That hiding option is because if they block me they are the only ones who can’t see my comments!
The best thing I have done for myself in the last year--ok two best things: completely delete my Twitter account and start paying for content I like and want to be a part of, which includes Seaside Joe.
Hey Joe, If an UDFA earns a roster spot does he get a super structured contract similar to a drafted rookie or does he get what ever he or his agent can negotiate for?
I work in tech and so many people naturally assume that I would be engaged in social media. However my experience and knowledge of tech is the reason I don’t use social media. For all of the reasons you outlined.
Viable and successful businesses exist because there is value in the goods and services they provide to customers. This is something social media has tried, and in my opinion, failed to do.
I was in tech for a good part of the last quarter of the 20th C. It’s hard to believe now, but we really believed that the internet would be a force for good. Almost everyone I know from those days is disillusioned.
They'll get a deal figured out to keep him in New York. That team is hard all-in on a Superbowl this year and will get the contract sorted to fit this season and push the major cap hits down the line. Williams will get the money he deserves and a shot at the title.
I don't see how any other outcome benefits either the Jets or the 'Hawks (or whoever would try and trade). No-one's paying WIlliams that much more than the Jets would, and could offer as strong a chance to win it all. And for the Jets, no-ones going to give them any pieces that help said superbowl push as much as keeping Williams does.
Now, in two-three years when that cap hit becomes much bigger, when Aaron has finally left for good, and the Jets all-in push is over, there will be different conversation to have. But by then we'll have won our own Superbowl and won't even want Quinnen, watching Cam Young & Rob Cooper locking down that central DT position in style.
Teams just plain don’t let elite pash rushing DTs hit the market. It’s maybe the hardest position to find outside of QB. Just think about just how much Jalen Carter scared clubs off.
Twitter is nothing more than a rumor mill at best- and since moneybags bought it, it is so much worse!
Man, Bambi was ahead of its time with "twitterpated", which I assume means you have to tweet but can't
I can’t love this too much. You had me at Twitter rant. I hate what it currently is.

A+ and A++!

The latter. Basically, they are true free agents: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/how-much-are-nfl-undrafted-free-agent-contracts/#
“Twitter litter” I love it and am stealing it!

Social Media really did fail and I could see a future where people talk about it like alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.

Was on Facebook once. To me it is like wading through a shit pond looking for something that is unanswerable. May the 12s be with you and go Seahawks!
That's an apt description, Mcdude!

Ever since I quit Twitter, I feel better about myself as a human being. Constant exposure to anger and ignorance wears a person down.
It's wild how much you change after The Quit!
