Pete Carroll has been very effusive in his praises of Karl Scott in various interviews. As a fan, I sort of take that with a grain of salt because It comes from Pete and everything is rosy this time of the year. But it’s really reassuring to see the player’s perspectives agreeing with Pete too. For the last few years, seeing players like Tre Flowers and Diggs saying theyre confused by their assignments after the Vikings game and secondary giving up lots of yards had me questioning how much of that was from poor coaching. Then passing game coordinator Andre Curtis was fired.
Wouldn't expect Cross to be getting notice at this point, unless it was for all the wrong reasons. So the fact that he's off the radar is good. From what I can see, he's doing fine. It's a hard position to learn so I expect we'll see mistakes this year. We'll also see enormous potential. At least I hope so.
Cortez Kennedy was obviously on the other side of the line but I recall how he struggled in his rookie season. He'd get pushed off the line because he didn't yet have technique. Worked super hard; one could see it wasn't a lack of effort. And then every now and then he'd flash. I remember him picking up the lineman blocking him and throwing him down and to the side like a sack of potatoes. Those flashes were enough to let us know that he was going to be special.
Ken, it sounds like Pete has been reading too much of your stuff about Walker. Pete seems to be having a public orgasm talking about him today. You may want to stop talking about it for Petesake. Mike Robinson thinks very highly of Walker as well. He said Walker is his highest rated RB coming out of college. He thinks he has a chance to be like Ladainian Tomlinson.
I’m most excited to see Walker in this game to be honest, especially now that he’s starting.
