I have two choices - Tre Brown because we haven't seen him consistently enough to know for sure, but I feel he will or can be a quality player. # 1 would be Charles Cross!~ He had a foot injury last year, which is hell for a linemen on either side. He gets some props but also allot of dissing too! I feel we will see an improved player this year, especially once the O-line has a chance to jell a bit and the Center (whoever that ends up being) has a chance to get in the leadership role they need to have, in calling out assignments and changes at the line, so they all get on the same page.

Also to let you know that I have really enjoyed seeing the pics other winners have sent in. I have not yet because I am looking for the perfect opportunity. I'm going with Dereck Hall. All but forgotten due to his entirely forgettable 1st year, but has all of the athletic ability and heart to be very successful in Mike Mac's defense. I say he earns snaps this year, gets to the QB, and sets an edge so hard you could crack walnuts on it.

There just can't be a world where someone with his size, strength, and mentality is unsuccessful. I think the coaching staff will have a clear vision for where and how they want him to play, and he will be the surprise on the defense this year. He'll be one of those stars that weren't stars until Mike Mac got here.

Plus, he's the best draft story I've ever heard, so I want him to be successful. I'm rooting for you D-Hall!

Great article and great topic. Most importantly, Seaside Jay ROCKS! Those glasses are awesome. I had a special placed all planned out for when I won a pair. They looked great in the pics.

The most underrated players are the entire offense and defense because the OC Waldron and the DC Hurtt both were 2nd rate coaches that were so predictable an amateur Hawks fan could call most of the plays. God forbid they disguise their intentions. Apparently, fooling the opponents was unfair. Can't wait to see how they do under the new staff.

Did we ever really abandon the “we’re not getting cute with it we will just beat you straight up” philosophy of the LOB days? I mean, it was very clear our guys not just “better” than their guys.

Waiting in the wings and may not get a chance unless (God forbid) there’s an injury, from what little I’ve seen, I think Kenny McIntosh might be one of the most underrated.

I also love Bobo and think he’s underrated due to being under utilised by Pete. I got the impression Pete wasn’t a fan, but Bobo practically forced himself onto the field with his abilities and enthusiasm. He’s tough with great hands. Hopefully they use that to our advantage more this season.

Big props to Seaside Jay for my bitchin' shades! I put them right on top of my "Assistant to the Regional Manager" name placard on my desk in my office. I sit at my desk and get a good look at them most every day. They have become a conversation piece. I believe that an organization in some ways takes on the style of the leader, and you Seasiders are a great team that supports and guides this community team.

Keep that shit up!

In that same spirit, my most underrated Seahawk is Jody Allen. She *could* have sold the team. She *could* have blown everything up and pulled a Jerrah. She *could* have eroded the confidence in the organization internally and externally. Instead, she has been involved enough to show she cares, but not too much. She has set a strong quiet leadership example, leaned on her late brother's character and direction, and actually increased fan confidence and stability in the organization. She did all of that while becoming a brand new owner during a sad and fragile time in Seahawk history, also doing all that while firing the most beloved coach in team history, which would create uncertainty in most poorly run organizations, but it has created excitement. She has empowerd JS, and actually made me excited about our new chapter when I was behind Pete wholeheartedly. I still am, but it was the right thing to do.

I think its Tre Brown if you wanna dig into it. Coming up on a new contract as DB3. Hes fully healthy and ill copy and paste this just to keep it simple

NFL Press coverage leaders

1. Tre Brown, Seattle Seahawks: 88.5. Brown was a sporadic starter for the Seahawks, but his 88.5 press coverage grade was the best in the NFL. Despite his size, Brown has made a name off his physicality at the line of scrimmage, looking to turn every battle into a dogfight.

For reference Jamel Dean was 2nd with an 82.5 grade.

Looking at a new defensive coach and seeing that Tre had the #1 Press coverage grade in the NFL last season and knowing MacDonald has the ability to put his players in a position to succeed. I can see this going a long ways toward a contact extension that people aren't expecting.

This is by far the closest thing I could even consider when you look at the SF signing.

Love the comment about Walker--his running style does remind me of Shaun although K9 takes on blockers in a way that Shaun did not, typically.

Olu Olu would get my vote. I think he is going to grab the C position and lock it down.

I would also put money (if I were so inclined) on Howell to be the starting QB by the end of the season.

Underrated....offense I think K9 was a great choice. Defense....I'm looking at J Love. I see the 'it factor' in so many players but they all just need the chances to prove it. I can't wait to see Murphy get overlooked like he did in college. All the dude does is wreck plays...he breaks through and gets the QB/RB running sideways and other defenders can then easily slip off blocks and make tackles - for which Murphy gets no recognition - even though he is the player that effected the play (and the outcome) the most. I love that everyone on Seattle seems to be overlooked and forgotten....like castaways and rebels in some far off land.

I think K9 and Fant on offense and Woolen on defense are the three guys who are most likely to turn their promising careers thus far (and immense talent) into an all pro 2024 season. I can't pick Spoon or Cross because the expectation for them is already very high.

Safety and linebacker are too unknown to pick from, but I could see a star emerge from that group just based on opportunity and scheme. Couldn't you see Jordan Love leading the league in interceptions just due to opportunity and a bit of luck (a la Geno Stone)? In this case I'd say these guys are setup to become overrated, rather than actually being underrated like the three mentioned above.

Geno. Plus the incessant disrespect. Hell, I'm starting to get a chip on MY shoulder because of it (actually aged bone growth and arthritis from sandlot football 50 years ago) but I feel for you Geno. Tyler no longer can claim the title simply due to the fact that he's had "the most underrated" label that people have brought up for a while. But you are and have been so just keep getting after Sir Tyler.

I’m going with Michael Dickson. With the defense McDonald is installing, we’re finally going to see how powerful it is to have a punter who can pin the other guys deep in their own territory.

Seems to me ,Tyler is the most consistently reliable and underrated Seahawk...and I feel WR's in general are overrated.

He's like a stealth weapon. Just when you forget he's even there, he makes the clutch play...fully extended with toes inbounds like a ballerina...the dude should wear a neon green tutu right? Do opposing teams even game plan for him?
