I hate to say this out loud, because it's kind of a butt-head comment, but I really don't care who gets picked. I cheer for the laundry, and I want the Seahawks to have the 53 best players available on the field. In JS/MM, I trust.
I'm with you about breakout player. Knight is impressive and I would have thought maybe trade bait. So far, he's not being shopped I would guess. Thomas is a tough nut to beat out and so it will be tough for Knight to break out if he does not play. So what about that part, SSJ? The only way I can think of is if the team breaks out the old 4-3-4 defense more, but where does that put Emanwori? Playing more what? CB? A regular safety? Displacing Okada? The whole think is like a set of bowling pins with one going down and then another. Emanwori basically plays as one of three LBers as much as anything. Take that away and there's not that much else because that is the position he changes into the nickel CB. Edge? I like playing him at edge more. But Mills is it? He's gonna play edge more, and I like that idea, too. Only so many snaps awailable, but they want the Eman to play close to 100%. He might be the best player on our defense, and that says a shit load.
My sleeper/break out pick will be Mike Morris. SSJ has written about him previously being outstanding on ST and a very capable rotational D-lineman. I'll say this will be his year. Go Big Mike!
I wonder if Milroe will be a focus of the next Hard Knocks episode. I'm surprised there has been no real mention of him yet, but it would make sense that they're saving his story for the preseason games.
I agree, Howell looked much better with Washington than when he tried to play in Grubb's offense. I'm not sure what happened, but he hasn't been the same since.
I believe that Joe Milton had a similar storyline to Milroe heading into his draft, an arm-talented project, but maybe not as mobile as Jalen.
I will also be watching Logan Brown at OT and Chris Paul at ILB - my picks at OTAs to be long shots to make the roster. I don’t think much of MVS as a threat to the Seahawks. I was not surprised at all when he was cut last year. In the three training camp practices I watched, it was clear Horton was better by a good margin and MVS offered nothing on special teams. I am terribly disappointed I did not get to go to the VMAC this year. I feel as though I’m blind going into this game.

My wife and I will be in the Hawks Nest on Saturday. I can hardly wait! I’ll be wearing my Sherman jersey.

Hey Ken, not to be that guy but you wrote that Howell is battling Milroe for the backup QB.
I liked the way Howell played for the Redskins and surprised he was so ill-equipped here. I put his lack of development on the new Coaches in 2024.
