NFL Day 2 Thoughts
Washington is looking for speed. Maybe for safety Trevon Moehrig. I am really hoping Jevon Holland is the first safety called on Friday. Washington doesn’t pick until 51; are they trading up for Moehrig or is he expected to keep falling?
Javonte Williams could be one of the first few names called.
Could Christian Barmore go 33rd?
Jets trading down at 34?
Based on rumors, the second round will start with Jags taking Christian Barmore or Tyson Campbell, then the Jets will trade back, then the Falcons could draft Javonte Williams or Trevon Moehrig, something like that. Would a team trade over Atlanta for a RB or a S or a CB? Eagles might do it to secure Asante Samuel.
Then the Dolphins are being linked to RB or Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah at 36, or maybe a center like Creed Humphrey. Teven Jenkins is also possible.
If the Eagles didn’t trade up for one player, well, they have plenty of other needs and directions to go, including JOK, Samuel, and maybe just maybe not ruling out a double-dip at receiver. There’s really no pick that couldn’t help the Eagles, including QB, though they probably wait until round three.
The Bengals are at 38 and after selecting Ja’Marr Chase, 100% of 100% are predicting o-line.
Mocking the top of the second round:
33 - Jaguars - Christian Barmore, DT
34 - Eagles - Asante Samuel, CB (trade)
35 - Falcons - Javonte Williams, RB
36 - Dolphins - Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB
37 - Jets - Tyson Campbell, CB (trade down)
38 - Bengals - Teven Jenkins, OT
At 39, lots of talk about Carolina going tackle. Would they be a team to trade up to 34 with the Jets? They already made the Sam Darnold trade. Maybe the Panthers trade up to 35, select Sam Cosmi, then Samuel goes to the Falcons, then Javonte Williams goes to Miami, and Philadelphia chooses Campbell, leaving New York with a different set of options at 39.
Seahawks reportedly interested in Semi Fehoko. He’s all projection at receiver, little production, but uniquely athletic.
Okay, I’ll update this later if needed.
JAVON HOLLAND!!!!!!! FIRST SAFETY!
