The Baltimore Ravens announced the death of former NFL running back Alex Collins on Monday evening, news that was also confirmed by the Seattle Seahawks in a separate post.
Update: The Seahawks have announced the cause of Collins’ death as a motorcycle accident.
Collins was drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. He played one year in Seattle, then had a breakout season in 2017 with the Ravens by totaling over 1,100 yards in rushing and receiving, eventually making his way back to the Seahawks for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
I never know what to write when news like this happens, but Collins is a player who was a favorite of many, including myself, and I would be remiss to not give Seahawks fans an opportunity to share anything you want to say about him, even though it is a tragedy that I’m sure everyone is still processing.
RIP, Irish dancer.
Such terrible news. I loved his running style. I’ve seen too much death recently and am heartbroken for his family!
