It's a long season and potentially long post-season if we're a wild card. I'm guessing they let him go through the bye week since it's only three weeks away now. Bears next week we'll really miss him, but then Cards and Raiders which are both feisty but not worth re-aggravating. Prob the 29th post-bye week vs 49ers in Santa Clara where we need EVERYONE
Yeah, that's what has generally been the case. However, then you hear about people like TreVeyon Henderson who ended up playing the following week after a high ankle. I don't understand that at all. No matter modem science, soft tissue injuries all take 8-12 weeks and bone takes 6-8 weeks. Some are a little quicker or a little longer but there is no cheat code for the human body. It can only regenerate so fast.
I agree depth is vastly under-rated, as are special teams, in determining who the truly great teams are and who has the truly great rosters. Cross being out for example but having Josh Jones who we've watched play pretty well, is a real comfort. Same with Emmanuel Wilson with Price and Charbs out. And like you say, Knight for Thomas. And Rodney Thomas for Okada and Bud Clark. And Haynes and Stephens for Bradford (okay I'm being a bit generous on that one). And Horton for Shaheed.
In the general "Beat Down" category, our Seahawks dun good, but...
The Cincinnati/ Baltimore game was close for a while, but the weekly Beat Down award goes to Tampa Bay, who just unloaded on the Carolina Panthers for a 30 point win.
I'm thinking Seattle is in a groove, and Calib Williams is in a rut. Seattle wins big next Sunday and wins next week's Beat Down award. Then we're at home against AZ and at LV. Two more chances for the Beat Down award
Thankfully the Seahawks play the Panthers in Week 17. No easy wins or anything, but I think the Bucs just helped exposed how bad the NFC South is.
If the Rams lose a few more games, they'll probably shut it down before Week 16, making Week 16-17-18 potentially winnable opportunities for Seattle. And the 3 games before that are the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles.
What was once a gauntlet, the late season Seahawks schedule may be a gift.
I see what you are saying. It's interesting for me to see what people think a turnover should be counted as, in the same way that players share a sack or assist on a tackle.
Hopefully this exercise is fun first and foremost, and an opportunity to explore every game in finer detail second and secondmost. Stu will not be robbed of any prize money.
The play calling was much more creative, with much better use of TE’s which has been a miss up to now. Sam got the ball out much quicker (I believe graphic on screen said 2.54 seconds vs > 3 seconds, bit not sure if I caught that right?).
Run game was effective, even though not explosive.
Did MM & BF fix things during mini-bye?
Or is this a 1 hit wonder?
That is what I will be watching for in coming weeks.
Defense was “lights out”, and shows what they can be when offense doesn’t turn the ball over near our goal line, and sustains drives to give the D a breather.
In a totally perfect world, the Seahawks would never have an explosive play. Every single play would be exactly 3.5 yards, every drive would be 2 minutes times 10 yards, and every game would end 35-0. Life isn't perfect, and I'll settle for a string of undefeated seasons until Sam Darnold starts to draw Social Security checks. I'll be dead by then, and my kids will just have to deal with the adversity. They're strong.
There is no doubt Emmanwari was a home run draft pick. So was Murphy, Witherspoon, and JSN on the offensive side. Knight and Pritchett might be singles or doubles. The draft is how a team remains competitive while also getting to the playoffs. Cross and Lucas were both triples at least and that is why we are doing so well. On the other hand, Leonard Williams and Demarcus Lawrence were both excellent pickups along with Reed and others. Like both of our starting LB's.
No complaints here. Keep playing this way and we should have some exciting games down the road and maybe into the playoffs. Yesterday was a true highlight for this season. We need to do that some more before the end of the regular season. What's not to like?
I think NickE should share credit with Ty Okada for the turnover. It was Nick's hit on Mahomies that caused the errant pass that Ty caught. I equate it to forcing a fumble; one player can punch the ball out while another makes the recovery (which almost happened last night, too).
Really, you thought his game was that good, eh? That had not occurred to me, but I thought his play during the playoffs last year was superb, and got us into the superb bowl.
Charles Cross: High-ankle sprain. Expected 1-2 weeks out, but I feel like high-ankle sprains are closer to a month, at least.
Rashid Shaheed: early reports look positive, per MM.
Jadarian Price: They're opening his 21-day window this week.
Zach Charbonnet: Nothing close to confirmed that Charbonnet will play against the Bears. Think we should expect Emanuel Wilson again next week.

Yes, high ankle sprains are commonly ~ 4 weeks.
Maybe it is a mild one?
Severe ones can require surgery.

Also, lineman don't really need to cut as much so maybe can tape it up and play vs a running back?
Sheer size and weight is very hard on Big Men, especially in basketball. Henderson is 5'10" and 200 lbs.
Velus Jones?
I didn't see any news on him

Oops - I meant to finish Mike Macdonald shuts down Ken Walker (again) ….
Reminiscent of “the only guy who can hold Michael Jordan to 12 points a game - is Dean Smith”
Mike Macdonald shuts down Ken Walker -
Bradford played all the offensive snaps.

Not sure it makes sense to move the goal posts after Stu made his predictions.

Hey....
Where's Danno? I miss his input.

Last night was “Seahawks Football”.
Have they righted the ship????

I hope so!

Additionally, JS made an aggressive move to get NE. It was a risk, and it has paid off bigly.

I say make it an SSJ asterick and we'll see who's stats prove most predictable.
Nick had probably the best game of his career. He was all over the field.
