I just read an article that said the Seahawks are the third most interesting team in the NFL this preseason. #2 was the NE Pats, and #1 was, you guessed it, the LA Rams How interesting are we going to be when we're 3-0 against these guys and steamrolling into the Super Bowl?
I'm glad to see Price getting some props in the Second Chance voting. He (probably) won't be the MVP of the team this year, but I think his production is going to be very important to the Hawks' success.
I am pretty shocked by how much more Myers seems to be valued than Dickson. Don’t get me wrong, I think both are great players and appreciate having them both on the Hawks. But I feel as though Jason Myers is far easier to replace than Dickson. He is a uniquely gifted punter whereas Myers is consistent but as has been mentioned here at SSJ before, he’s probably not our the best bet to win a game from 60+ out.
I live in Louisville and held season tickets for the newly added (AND CHAMPION) Kings of the UFL. I watched their kicker, Tanner Brown hit FGs with accuracy, consistency, and even show off some distance with some clutch 60+ yd kicks and I couldnt help but think to myself that I would be thrilled to give the guy a chance in the NFL and shed Myers contract if he brought the same consistency to this level.
I get your point, but Myers won us the Indy game last year. He was the only Seahawk to score. And as much as I really like Dickson, he’s not putting points directly on the board (unless he’s drop kicking). Not a knock on Dickson. It’s the nature of his position.
A choice between Jobe, Love, Lawrence, and Witherspoon? Can I vote for “All”?
For me, it came down to depth. I’m a bit more comfortable with safety and DE depth than at the CB position. That leaves Jobe and Witherspoon. The latter is probably harder to replace, so he gets the vote.
But frankly, all of these players can have a big impact on any given game or play. If they all play up to their abilities, the defense will have a greater result than any one player can achieve. If any falters, the entire defense suffers.
I made a lot of my choices based on the question "What would happen if that particular player was out for a while? How well would their backup be able to fill in for them?
Because of that approach, I didn't rank our OLB/Edge players very highly in this poll. As a group, they're super important, but it feels as if our four top guys at that position – Lawrence, Nwosu, Hall or Fowler are all pretty equivalent.
Man. Having been so many years with no OL and then watching us put up 140-150 yds/game on our winning streak, and Darnold relatively unscathed, I’m finding myself being Mr Win in the Trenches. LOVE our OL, can’t imagine not having our newly found studs up there
I hate to totally off subject here, but...

Yeah, I vote for “All”.

That one was extremely difficult to choose from.

Would like to have seen what would happen if lineman were pitted against lineman...I kinda want to see how people rank our o line.
C Cross vs. Zable was a tough call.
