Blessings to Tyler. I hope he's back, but obviously not at that cap/cash number. We're not exactly rich in WR'ers after you get past DK and JSN. Could Bobo get 600 yards as the No 3 receiver? I dunno. Maybe. But we also have to account for injuries during the year. We need to add some depth either through the draft or FA.
I wonder if any team out there would be willing to pay the vet minimum for him (~$1.2 million, I think). I assume most teams would rather put that money elsewhere, but perhaps I'm misreading his value. I could see him as a late offseason or in-season FA pickup for a team that needs depth or injury relief. I really hope, if he does have an opportunity and desire to play next season, it is with us or someone with a legit shot at the super bowl (hopefully both!).
If he truly wants to play at least one more season, I think there's is reasonable likelihood that his agent has already told him that there is not much out there for him other than something only nominally better than vet minimum. If true (and I think it will be) why wouldn't we bring him back? 500 yards receiving, much of it coming on key 3rd downs, would be well worth $1.5M. But will Tyler play for that, or will he decide he won't play next year for that little cash........which he can probably exceed in the Real Estate world.
I love the guy, so I would welcome him back next year enthusiastically. I don't want to see him wearing another teams uniform. Bobby Wagner in a Rams uniform almost killed me. Richard Sherman in a 49'ers uni........gaaaaaaaa!
Russell and Tyler were miracle makers together. No other tandom in my lifetime has created more "jump-out-of-your-chair" moments for me. Towards the end, a moon-ball into the end zone with Tyler deep was a bathroom break. Unbelievable teammate, questionable poet!
What makes Lockett even more of a bargain is that he’s truly a good guy, a great teammate and someone that I’m proud to say was a Seahawk for a full decade.
Lockett’s connection with Russ was otherworldly. There were throws to the back of the end zone or moonshot bombs where Tyler found just the right spot and Russ found Tyler.
The other really amazing thing about Lockett is how tiny he looks. Put him next to other receivers, even tiny speedy slot types, and he looks miniature. That he’s done it for so long is pretty amazing.
Gonna miss this guy. Has to be one of the favorite 'Hawks -- entire career here, humble guy who showed up every game and left his mark. And at a reasonable price, as our inimitable SSJ has shown. Hats off to you No-E, you're one of the all-time great 'Hawks man
treble rec, zezinhome. Tyler is my favorite player, joyful 'n humble. Small guy with a big Heart. Liked how in one of the playoff games he rec'd his high school.
I hope he plays one more year and retires. After Baldwin hung it up about the same time Richardson went to Washington I wondered if we could find a good possession receiver that was the best of both. We did in Lockett. Better speed than Baldwin and more reliable than Richardson

Stay Cool, Mr. Lockett, Gratitude.
