There was word at the combine that the Hawks were asking around for wide receiver help. However, if they were to trade for Watson wouldn't they want to keep Lockett? Conversely, maybe it's part of the plan to acquire the resouces to complete the Watson trade. I have a hard time seeing the Pete/John duo being willing to tank, even for a year.

Tyler Lockett would be a 32 million dollar cap hit in "dead" money...so he's not going anywhere...

As written in the article, that's not true. A) you're talking about a dead money cap hit if the Seahawks RELEASE Tyler Lockett. Not if they trade him: It's a $20.35 million dead money hit if they trade him. B) The Seahawks can either pay him $10 million to play for them on a losing team or $20 million for him to play somewhere else+ retain a draft pick. Your talking about Seattle being "worried" about Dead money when there's zero reason to believe that the Seahawks have to worry about their cap hit. I'll refer you to the dead money cap hits that the Rams, Eagles paid for Goff and Wentz last season.

Wasn't it reported that Wilson wanted more say over personnel choices in Seattle? Wonder if he may push for Lockett in Denver...

If Russell Wilson wants to be GM, all the more reason for a team to wonder if he wants to just be a QB again. Seahawks went to two Super Bowls when Russ was focused on being a QB.

I played top flight rugby until 34, then I reinjured my knee which already had an ACL repair. I was 6ft 188lbs and was still very fast, but the Dr told me I could limp for life if I did it again. Smaller agile players like Tyler can play much longer than a 220lbs receiver. Victoria Chris

I go off of the facts of who is performing at a high level in the NFL at wide receiver over the age of 29 over the last three years. That's all I go off of.

Sports are more nuisance than that. I do understand where you are coming from. There are exceptions to your rule who play very well at receiver and cornerback when they are built naturally. Victoria Chris

Tyler has such an incredible connection with Russ that am wondering if the Broncos would go for a further trade here (don't know if they are all set at receiver or not). Tyler is my favorite player but might be better for him and Russ at this point.
