Brock Huard suggests Chase Young from the WFT. What does the Borg think of Mr. Young? Oft injured, awesome talent, last year of rookie contract. Would you offer a second round pick?

Levi Bell. He has The Dog in him 24/7. He's contagious, as is Jamal and Spoon. Unleash the hounds. (Huskies, if you will)

Darrell Taylor is great on obvious passing situations. “Me see QB, me charge!”. It’s exactly what we wanted of the LEO in the Bradley / Quinn years. But things are a bit different now.

We need an actual outside linebacker, that can set the edge, that is more observant and analytic.

I think the obvious band aid is to play Jamal at OLB. The price is that we stop playing big nickel, as we would have to move Love back to strong safety. We can keep moving chairs, sending Diggs to big nickel, and playing Reed II or Bryant (if he’s back from injury) at free safety, but is it worth it?

The good news is that the Browns offense is bad, so we will have some margin of error to find our footing. The bad news is that their defense is historically good, so the offense will have to be able to score (but I think this is a game that you can win with 4 field goals).

Somehow the Seahawks 2 losses look a bit better this morning after seeing the 9ers with 2 losses as well.

Really disappointed about Uchenna, but that's a spot we at least have options. D-Hall can handle more, and yes he'll make some mistakes. He'll also make some plays. I don't trust Taylor on early downs but maybe Pete can get him to step up to the challenge.

Frank Clark does make some sense, but the defense is different than the one he played in before. I'm not smart enough with the X's and O's to know how different playing end in a 4-3 alignment, versus an edge in a 3-4. He'd be playing in space more I expect.

I do NOT like the language Pete is using when discussing Abe Lucas. For a while he wasn't talking about him at all, and now there is a dearth of optimism in Pete's words when talking about him. It doesn't sound like we'll have Abe back for weeks, or longer. This saddens me. Abe was on track to become one of the top right tackles in football. Total bummer.

Pete and John are masters at deception when it serves The Team.

Re Lucas, I noticed that too. I don’t expect Abe back any time soon, if at all.

I would be overjoyed if we added Chase Young and were able to squeeze something close to his full potential out of him. The acquisition cost would probably be too high, though a few more losses before the trade deadline might make WAS more amenable to a trade. I'd also sign off on a trade for Burns if it was something akin to our 1st+4th for Burns+4th; from a financial standpoint I don't think retaining Burns, Nwosu, Mafe and Hall would be prohibitively expensive. Re-signing Frank Clark does seem like the most likely option.

Smith would be fine if he’s actually available. Otherwise, given the choices outlined, I’d just as soon cast my lot with Taylor.

"Darrell Taylor has been in and out of the doghouse throughout his career, mostly because he lacks the discipline to set the edge and is too inconsistent"

I thought Taylor played a pretty solid game. If you refer to the Dobbs Rushing TD, in German TV the announcer Patrick Esume is a football coach himself and he called the fault by Jordyn Brooks because he has to set the edge in this play when Taylor goes a straight line. You can see almost the same play shut down by BWagz just a bit earlier.

Taylor made the mistake of having his left foot on the painted yard line. Slipped out from under him as he tried to move right for the tackle.

In the fourth quarter, Taylor made a terrific 3rd-and-2 play to keep Dobbs from running for a first. Brooks made the tackle, but it was Taylor who disrupted the play. He also set the edge decently in the last quarter, although he wasn’t asked to do that often. Plus the sack. Even with the up-and-down play, I’d rather take my chances with a guy who knows the system (and is in a contract year) than, for example, another second-round draft pick who hasn’t lived up to the hype or an aging has-been.

IMHO they cannot play Darrel Taylor there except in obvious pass downs. He just cannot play that full time position. Not sure how they will look at this, But Frank if healthy would be a place to start looking.

Omg... watching MNF and the NN board at the same time is the most fun I have had this weekend lol.

Don't look now but the Seahawks are a half-game out of first in the NFCW... which makes the discussion of the issues on offense even more intense. If the Seahawks can just elevate the offense a bit, the NFCW is theirs for the taking.

Not seeing it. I think we're dead meat in some of our upcoming games, including the two against the 49ers. But ya never know.

Purdy looked downright baffled last night, and against a middle-of-the-pack defense. There may finally be enough film on the guy to attack his game and make him beat you.

Yeah, Kapernick looked great in his first dozen games too, then Seattle figured out how to rattle/beat him.

Why did Frank Clark ask for his release? Without knowing, it's hard to say whether he'd entertain an offer from Seattle. I think he had his best years here so maybe he'd consider a return.

Not TOO many injuries last year. Looks like the team is making up for it this year.

I hate when injuries have an outsized impact on a team.

Green Bay would be a good bet for a trade partner if it goes that way but signing back Frank would be the play to make if a deal can be worked out. No long term commitment to make room for the young guns.
