I've been wondering if they haven't been running the ball as much because they don't think they can with this offensive line. We obviously have the running backs for it.

It’s just that when they have run, they’ve generally been successful. Anyway, forty passes a game from Geno is not a recipe for success.

I've heard of bad run blocking offensive lines (which I'm not sure if that's what the Seahawks have--two weeks ago people were calling Cross the best run blocking LT in the first three games of the year). I've never heard of a team going 100+ passes for every 20 runs because of it.

One of the teams at the end of the game tomorrow is going to be crushed.

If the Niners go 0-3 in the division with a loss, their hopes of repeating as NFCW champs and even the playoffs are probably toast.

If the Seahawks lose, all of the positivity from the 3-0 start is gone, gone, gone and the 7-win projection for the team might be where they land.

This is the first division game for the Seahawks, and is the first real litmus test for the team, and MM in particular going up against Shanny's schemes as the Seahawks HC.

Despite the odds in the game and the recent form of the Seahawks, I think that they will somehow find a way to win, around a run game and quick passes, and a D that re-dedicates itself to tackling.

A win against the 9ers would sweet, it's been a minute!

At least the 49ers can no longer predict what the Seahawks will do. They have changed enough this season. In the past teams could show up already prepared for the Seahawks standard game plan. IMHO 😁

Nothing disrupts a defense more than a QB willing to run if a lane appears, as we saw against us last Sunday. Add as many wrinkles to their concerns as possible.

Re Williams, you have to go back at least to Brandon Mebane to find a Seahawks’ DT as good as the Big Cat. He’s delivering the goods, and is the least of the defense’s problems.

Given the personnel available due to injuries, it's hard to envision a consistent pass rush. I think we need a linebacker hero this week. The run defense issues and short/intermediate passes turning into big plays mostly come back to poor play from the safeties and ILBs in the last two games. Have they had enough time to learn from the mistakes? I think we'll still have some dubious play from this group, but if we get one or two hero moments (like the 101 yard fumble return TD) it might be enough. I'm ready for Baker to have his moment.

Pinning a W on our first Division Game will be huge. I've bet that MacDonald has had this game circled since the schedule came out. He's kept every card close to his vest, so I suspect we shall be seeing him confuse and exploit Purdy. Again. Yeah, it's been missing...for a reason. He wants to dominate this Division.

Pete ran the ball early, which set the tone for our 3-and-outs. I can understand why Grubb avoids it. If our line can't move people early, then let's see what happens when adjustments are made or Frisco tires. Maybe we see Olu make a surprise appearance and he proves to be a Banger...

Well, the only times we’ve looked effective so far this season is when we run the ball more imo. The pro pass idea obviously isn’t working.

My vision board starts with being able to watch the game. With any luck, my shop will still have power and internet tomorrow night and we will camp out here at the store and watch. Internet has come and gone back out 3 times and power more often than that, so I am not holding my breath, but it's been on for over 24 hours at this point. The Seahawks are 3-0 when we've watched the games and 0-2 since we have been unable to. It's like the jersey in my closet that's undefeated on the season. I'm not superstitious at all, except when it comes to sports...

I envision Tre Brown re-earning his "big play Tre" nickname and giving up only 1-2 completions vs a pick 6. I envision Spoon putting so many big hits on Jennings that he becomes gun shy to catch balls after a couple of impacts. Mike Mac has to be working with the linebackers extra this short week, and will have them ready. The D line is in shambles right now, but I still see 2-3 Purdy sacks. On offense we need the best version of K9, and I see a Beastquake type run and several big gains. JSN catches the game winning ball to keep us from going to overtime in a tight match. 27-20 Seahawks. A man can dream.

I will avoid any further hurricane talk in here unless asked, but I will update in my own substack if anyone is interested. It's weird, but I'm kind of tired of talking about it and sports are a fantastic escape that I look forward to.

My vision is that despite me not being able to watch the game ( going to be at my granddaughters cross country meet), the Hawks will show themselves to be THE ascendant NFC West team, and knock the Niners silly.

Lets Hope upon Hope that the O-line has it's best day of the season so far! That and the LB's get their communication down so they are in the right run fits per the play. On another note I read Todd Vandenberg(sp?) stated now that Robert Saleh has been fired that Seattle should hire him IMMEDIATELY! I agree whole heartedly even if for now it's in an advisory role. He is a very good D coach and that might Help MM become the head coach all the time and not just D coordinator and Head coach part time. I can't see how this wouldn't and couldn't help The Hawks a bunch !!! GO HAWKS! Beat Them Whiners!!!

Winning teams find ways to win, even when they haven't played their beat game.... we were a few plays away from beating NY, even though we should have been able to without those few plays. Same, really, vs. DET. If we can seize an opportunity or get a big play to fall our way, then we can pull out a win. The NFL has become increasingly like that... parity, with small separations here and there.

So, no DK fumbles or key penalties, and we have a good shot. Capitalize on opportunities, like a big 3rd down to get into FG range, or a turnover, can give us a GREAT shot. LFG!!
