I think Percy Butler is on most people's draft boards not so much bc of his safety play, but bc he is far and away the best special teams gunner in the draft. He's right up there with Cade York on the specialists draft board, at least from what I've read -- and it's possible if not probable that both Butler and York are on Seattle's draft board for that reason. Dickson York Butler Bellore Travis Burr-Kiven Ott plus whoever = the NFL's best special teams unit. Assuming York isn't another Aguayo.

Stop this safety discussion, draft some players in areas we need help and have for years. Seahawks have $100M tied up in safeties already, OT,Edge,OLB are needs. P/J need to make this draft historic with this draft capital and quit bringing in projects to tinker with. Their draft record has been sketchy for years. If Pete really wants “the best roster in NFL”, it starts tomorrow and cannot be done by drafting “projects”. Enough with hoping to coach them up. Seahawks track record on 1st round picks has been disappointing.

Do the Seahawks real need more special team players Percy Butler, hell we need quality lineman, with a large emphasis on quality not any more projects

Why all these safeties. Let’s get some offensive tackles that carry the team for years. We have two safeties signed long term, more is just silly, and more wasted money.

This is a little off topic with the late draft of safety's but in some ways it may apply to this years draft overall. Schneider commented on the pre-draft interview when asked about the draft this year saying, that there wasn't a lot of impact players, but there are a number of quality players. I heard a similar comment from Joe Thomas about O-Line. There was a number of quality options in later rounds. The GM from Jacksonville was also quoted as saying they are not getting calls about their overall # 1 pick trades. I think this is the year that quality scouting (now that the combine and bowls are back in the mix post Covid) for quantity rather than low round immediate impact. Seattle may well trade down from 9 and have already suggested 41 might also be negotiable. I think Seattle may decide they can pick up 2 additional picks (3,5) and slide to 13-15 for a similar caliber player in that range with less cap impact in the next 4 years. Just a thought.

I don't think we should draft a safety unless we trade the Peacock. Too many other holes in the roster.

It does appear that Kenneth and the Seahawks are into the #158.

Deontai Williams, S, Nebraska (158th among S)

Rodney Thomas, S, Yale (158th among LB)

What are the chances?
