No worries...I come to praise Ceasar not to bury him. I'm pretty sure most of us believe the Hawks are going to suck next year. I've never been a believer in Lock. I am hoping to see us field a good defense. If we can be competitive and throw in some hope for a brighter future (and the trolls from Niners Nation stay away), I'll be ok!

I agree that Seattle will most likely bad bad in 2022. Really BAD. That's alright. Will give us a chance to rebuild. No guarantees, though. Rebuilding is hard. Impossible to say when we'll be playoff good enough again, let alone Superbowl good enough. Only one team wins each year and it's always dicey predicting who. The Rams went all in on veterans and got lucky.

The days of being able to build a stable powerhouse franchise are long gone. I miss them but the best one can do now is take a shot at a deep run every now and then. The Hawks will need a lot of things to break right to get within a sniff of the aroma of the playoffs.

Well it is a dire picture you paint, but I am not Vlad Putin, I want the real low down. Without resigning Duane Brown, the Seahawks offense will be tragic. I feel sorry for Drew Lock.

On defense I guess Seattle has shown their hand by not resigning Reed. I hope it's Sauce Gardner we take at nine. Is there a left tackle at 40 or 41 who could start and thrive it's unlikely.

I believe we can pick up some help for our Rush. What's happened with Rashaad Green has he priced himself out of the entire NFL. It would be a shame we chose a 20 year old so he would be good at 24 or 25 and didn't follow through.

My honest fear is or maybe was that Carroll would do such a good job of coaching we would win 6 or 7. Without depth at tackle it can't be done. Clint Hurt will put a good defense on the field and hopefully we will be in a lot of close ones.

This rebuild has started and we are meant to be strong by 2023 with a stud rookie QB. I don't believe John and Pete would have gutted the team traded Wilson and cut Wagner if Jodi didn't give them two full seasons. Victoria Chris Ps sign DK before training camp even if the deal is a little rich. It will prove to the NFL you have not given up, and it will help recruit free agents for 2023.

Teams eventually go through the rebuild phase. Even tho Pete refuses to except reality.

Next year will be painful but necessary. Get young, get cheap. Get people that Pete can mold.

Agree with you Kenneth. Agree with Susan below. I certainly hope P & J can have an impactful draft this year and next. My one additional thought is we need a QB more experienced than Lock who will be a good mentor for our 2023 QB draft pick. More experienced AND cheap.

I don't disagree with your assessment of the current roster. That's why I advocate for trading Metcalf. I will point out that for ten years running Seattle had the fourth best record in the NFL. That's fun. Super Bowls are great but I would rather have ten years of winning than Super Bowl appearences, one win, and many years of irrelevance. That's how Arizona, SF, and LA have arrived. Let's see how long it lasts.

I don’t fully agree with your assessment of the overall talent on the Seahawks roster, but I could see some lean years ahead for the Hawks (6 or 7 wins) until P&J can either provide some leadership out of this roster mess or just go away and let a new leadership team get this team on the right track. 22 & 23 drafts will define this franchises future. I think trading RW was a mistake, and P&J need to come to grips with how the market is trending for most QUALITY position players and quit bargain searching free agency. Going to be a long stretch of up & down play for the Hawks, hope I’m here to see it.

James Carpenter(?!?!), Bruce Irvin, Germaine Ifedi, Rashaad Penny, L.J. Collier and Jordan Brooks (let's not forget the awful price paid in picks and $$ for J. Adams)...not exactly a Murder's Row of successful 1st round picks in the J&P era. Not much reason to believe this year or next will be different. J &P will trade down and down and down until they get that coveted bad 6th round D-lineman in the 2nd round and attempt to covert him into the O-line's savior.

The NFL Power Rankings have the Seahawks ranked 24 of the 32 teams. Here's the list of teams that graded out worse than the Hawks. Starred teams are NFC --

Bears*, Commanders*, Falcons*, Jets, Lions*, Giants*, Jaguars, Texans

Man, that's some terrible company.

And yeah, I can see an argument that any of those NFC teams will outperform the Seahawks in 2022. The Lions is a bit of a stretch. They'll need a fantastic draft. They do have five picks in the first three rounds. Anything's possible.

I agree with these thoughts. Good news: the Hawks will have some high draft choices in the next couple of years. I'll waste less time in front of the TV on Sundays. We don't have to watch Russ get pummeled all the time.

Bad news: It's rebuilding time. That will or will not bear fruit in the next few years; a lot of that is luck. Schneider was called an innovative genius 10 years ago, but now seems like a big doggie. Same with Carroll. The FO needs fresh blood.

I was reading the Seattle Draft Blog recently when referring to the # 9 pick that Seattle ought to draft edge or corner and really focus on this years draft to build a stout defense back. They could use another LB and DT and have the picks this year and a draft pool to address that. My guess is a LT will be addressed though in the first 3 picks. Seattle having a number of picks next year including two first rounds and 2 second rounds could make for some offensive pieces. My understanding is that next year's QB crop is thought to be better than 22. Having followed Seattle since Patera and I have experienced more than one embarrassing season and understand tactical rebuilds come with a losing record for the most part (unless your the Pats). My feeling is that Pete is nearing the end of his tenure and one of the new coaches might be auditioning as his replacement. The draft the next two years will be a a good barometer on whether Seattle is a contender or pretender in 24-25. Earth and Water.
