We get hurricanes here in Nova Scotia so 16 hours wouldn’t be close to the record for me. Probably the same for anybody on the Gulf or East coasts. Glad you’re back in business.
i could see a pink Aurora here in the Ark-in-saw countryside ! Saw a more colorful Aurora twice in deep Winter in the Ballard area in Seattle 40 years ago.
I don't know about the technology. I'm thinking of texting and how a plumber was once sending me these incredibly long and detailed messages. He couldn't have been doing that with his thumbs, I realized, and I discovered the wonderful world of dictating. I do it on MS Word and on my six year old Android. Yeah, you have to go back and correct, but it's so much more satisfying to get the ideas out as fast as they come. Fortunately, it's just a temporary problem for you.
The Seahawks win the division because the Rams are bad and the 49ers will suffer from the Super Bowl slump... I just don't know how that will manifest itself.
This could happen. The Niners have played 40 games in two years, and that SB loss was brutal—worse than the Falcons to the Patriots. (Niners are better than that Falcon team and the Chiefs aren’t as good as that NE team.) They are ripe for a SB hangover.
I don’t count the Rams out mostly because I have learned the hard way not to. Plus, until Stafford falls off a cliff, he’s the best QB in the division. On the other hand, he’s 36 and hardly invincible. Their defense last year was undistinguished even with AD (18th in both points and yards allowed). The point being that the Rams are not a steep hill to climb.
As for Phoenix, the proof is in the pudding for them, as it should be for a team coming off consecutive 4-13 seasons.
While strength of schedule can be a mirage, it’s worth noting that the Hawks play nine games against teams that were sub-.500 last year, and three of the other eight games are against teams that won nine or ten games (I.e., not exactly formidable.) We have reason for optimism.
Only problem with the Hawks is their division. Whiners and Spams will be difficult as always bc great coaching is a cure-all. And the Cards with Murray back won’t be an easy out either esp with the last two draft classes — and Gannon had a strong rookie season. Could easily have 4 losses right there. Go 8-3 against the rest and you’re 10-7.
That’s how hard it is if you’re in the NFC West. Everyone’s talking about the NFC North but I think once again the toughest NFC division is the West — and 2nd toughest overall after the AFC North.
There is a house-of-cards aspect to the division, though. After playing 40 games in two years and blowing the SB, the Niners could be worn down. The Rams’ D last year with AD was undistinguished, and the Cardinals are coming off consecutive 4-13 seasons.
Combined regular season records of last two years:
Check out the Rams' schedule last year... they lost to every team that had a winning record except for the Colts (9-8) in OT and the Seahawks (grrr) and a win over the 49ers in week 18 because they were resting all their starters.
I think their season was a mirage and now they've lost their best player. Maybe I will proven to be wrong but I just don't think they're all that good.
Seahawks have lots of talent on defense and they have a talented defensive minded head coach. Our offense is also very talented. If the Seahawks can have a top 15 defense and a top 15 offense this year under a new regime of coaches, I think they can easily win 10 games. We somehow won 9 last year with a bottom defense and inconsistent offense.
As much as I'd like to believe we can win 12 games (I think we have the talent for it) there will be growing pains with our new coaches. So, I see either another 9-8 or 10-7 season. But it'll be an exciting 9 or 10 win season.
Geno was greatly responsible for helping the team get to 9 wins last season with his league leading 5 come from behind victories and 4th quarter game winning drives. And the dude STILL gets no respect! He had to call out some "media personality" as a liar because supposedly this guy had "an inside connection" saying that Geno is on the hot seat this season. Geno said it was 100% fabrication. Unbelievable
That was my take as well. Even with improvement, almost across the board new coaches means growing pains. 3rd rank schedule helps. Figure, depending on eventual schedule, about .500 mid season then improvement in latter half
Just a general question. What is your favorite addition across any team rhis off-season? Whether it be a player, coach, anything.
That may be a personal record. 16 hours without internet. It’s back, we should be back to normal now. Crisis averted.

Some friends who live on Achill Island in County Mayo just posted an astonishing picture of the northern lights over their cottage.
I'm guessing Moons, Falcons, Rams, Lions win Div. and SF, GB and SEA are wild cards.
Don't be too hard on Spectrum. Their TV commercial with Etta James '"Somethings Got a Hold On Me" track is very good (mainly due to James). 😄
It happens. Some people cut the fiber cable while digging for copper. Can’t imagine spectrum was happy it happened.
I’ve cut cable myself!
Next time try using your phone as a hot spot. Love your articles.
Funny I didn’t think of this earlier until my mom reminded me of the same. Thanks
No dictation function?
The autocorrect drove me mad so I turned it off. But if the technology has improved or something I would love to go full talkie
Autocorrect is designed to drive anyone mad.

I am thinking that function doesn’t do research.
There’s one team that is a lay down mazaire this season and that’s us Seaside Joe Bro’s.
Love your work SSJ.

I voted for 11-12 wins and really think that between the new coaches and a favorable schedule it could happen.
A third place schedule is nice.

That’s what I’m hoping for. Although 13-4 would be just fine with me!
You got hit with a solar storm, Ken. First of 6...

Is that part of why the northern lights are going to be seen so far south tonight?
Not part, all of the reason why. Class 4 solar storms heading our way from a cascade of CMEs.
Just saw that on the national news — seems it’s just beginning. I hope my GPS is accurate tomorrow 😁 Thanks!!!
We have an impressive group commenting on SSJ...
Trust me, I should not be included in that group. :-)
